About this deal

Am I scared of the horrible things I know will happen to my kid to hurt him? Absolutely. But would I stop those things at the risk of taking away joy and growth and the absolute embracing of life? Never. Because I love this child for being mine, but I also love him for the being he will be, and I can't tell you how excited I am to watch him discover that for himself.” The world shifted. My childhood rewrote itself, everything changing as I realized what this room was, what the person-sized, rectangular stone box was. "This is a tomb. This is my tomb." I could barely see my parents through my tears, but their smiles hadn’t changed.

Moms and daughters: Talk about Isis and Isadora. Why does Isadora start out hating her mother? What makes Isadora understand her mother better? How is it reflected in her dreams? Disclaimer: I received an ARC from Harper Teen/ Edelweiss this has not affected my opinion of this book. I am also not a book archeologist or am claiming to be a doctor of any kind even though I have a JD which is technically a doctorate most people don't call me doctor unless they're my aunt. The main couple has my whole heart, they are so good to each other and the hurt/comfort makes you cry. However, this first volume won't have that much romance since we meet Chang Geng in his teen years, and he is being taken care of by Gu Yun, the nation greatest strategist and his yifu, by the late emperor's command.Despite a second try, the skewers come out more charred than browned—my mother’s efforts to domesticate me foiled yet again.

I will fill myself with the desert and the sky. I will be stone and stars, unchanging and strong and safe. The desert is complete; it is spare and alone, but perfect in its solitude. I will be the desert. As for Chang Geng, he is supposedly the son of the late emperor, and his consort, a Northern princess who was also considered to be a goddess to the barbarians. Due to his tainted blood, his aunt (who was pretending to be his mother), hated him, and took out all of her frustrations on him and even tried to kill him on multiple occasions when he was a small child. The worst of it is that she poisoned him with something as a child that effectively put a curse on him. Yes, his star will one day burn bright, but eventually, he will be driven insane by the monster within him, the wu'ergu. Chang Geng, thanks to his childhood and his curse, thinks himself unlovable, and an imposter, because he does not actually think he is the real fourth prince, but an imposter fabricated by his aunt to screw with the emperor. This volume ends with our main characters at odds. Chang Geng wants to get away from Gu Yun because of his feelings for him, and the fact that he does not think he is good enough to be around him due to his curse starting to become worse. While Gu Yun has no idea what is going on. He considers Chang Geng to be family, and since he no longer has much of one, the young mans attitude confuses him. It's pretty interesting so far. I'd like maps and art of the machines and stuff to get a good idea of the world. Not sure what the overarching plot is yet (if any?) so I have nothing to say on that. The characters are definitely interesting. I like that the main character isn't what I've seen before. He almost feels like a normal guy instead of someone super good at everything with huge ambitions. It seems like he has pretty small goals and has to work hard to accomplish things and it makes him really relatable. I also like that there are several disability rep characters. Sometimes it hurts to be forgotten while I’m still alive. But she has a point. Every single one of my mother’s hundreds of offspring have had variations of her name or my father’s. Hathor and Horus (and pretty much everyone else) don’t even bother trying to remember my name. Chaos Star is a symbol of Chaos Magic that by definition is not composed of any common components. It is about using novelty & concepts that are helpful to you at that moment even though they are refuting your true beliefs. You know what, I don't even care. It's the same thing with the whole basis of human spawns from two gods. There's no explanation for it. I'm just supposed to buy it. Book 1 felt more like the introduction for the worldbuilding and characters, i love Chang Geng and Gu Yun (our 2 main characters) at the first Introduction but the STEAMPUNK mixed with old Chinese culture really stole the show like WOW 😍 i expected to see more romance tho but i guess i will get it in the next book Star Map on Night Light - Personalized Constellation Map - Custom Night Sky - Stars on Wedding - Stars Chart Anniversary Gift - Celestial Isadora, human daughter of Egyptian gods, hates her family because she feels like they use her to generate worship so that they won't die.

Mother gave me my very own paints, and Father proudly gave me a room. I’d never been happier. Countless hours down there I painted, sketched, planned. I drew the stories of my life on those walls, filled them with the people and places I loved. My mom, beautiful and strong. My dad, serene and kind. Grandma Nut stretching across the sky to watch us all. They were my family; they were my story. The 22 year old MC is nothing but paternal toward the other. There's no grooming, there is nothing predatory in his behaviour. He received this kid in his care and he's taking care of him. It's the teenager that starts to develop a teenage infatuation with his godfather. The teenage MC takes his godson responsability very seriously and is very diligent in his studies and training, so that he can become someone who can take care of his "little yifu" when he's old. He's horrified when he realizes he's starting to have a crush on his godfather. And then there's the whole thing with the dreams. At the beginning, Isadora's mother told her to watch out for bad dreams because she thought something bad was going to happen. So, naturally, Isadora has bad dreams, then DOESN'T tell her mother about them because she's mad at her mother. Of course, let's ignore a god, who obviously knows what she's talking about. And obviously those dreams do lead to something bad happening. The magic penis. I really don't understand the point of this pointless anecdote. I really don't care at all but Osiris's penis and it's extremely irrelevant to the story. I can't even wrap my mind around why Kiersten White decided to include this in The Chaos Of The Stars. I don’t need a new person to suddenly spring up under my skin and push out who I was, who I’ve already decided to be. Those feelings have no place in my life and I will not let myself be a fool in love, with love, let it take over and destroy me.It would be so easy for me to list what I disliked about this book, and rant about what a little bitch Isadora is and how much I hated her, but it's not so simple as that. You will get no arguments from me that our main character is an easy character to hate, but I find myself empathizing with her more often than not.

The Chaos symbol was originated on an archaeologist’s workbench which is often referred to as Zamorakian artifact made in Archaeology. Isadora’s family is seriously screwed up—which comes with the territory when you’re the human daughter of the Egyptian gods Isis and Osiris. Custom Framed Quotes, Custom Framed Sign, Create Your Own Custom Framed Sign, Custom Sign, Custom Wedding Sign, Create A Custom Sign Isadora is by far the worst protagonist I've ever read about. Compared to Isadora, Bella Swan is practically literary genius. This would've been too much if it wasn't for the brilliant way Kiersten White wrote it. She always gave us a little bit more information at the beginning of each chapter. We also stepped into Isadora's very dark and frightening dreams, that was also nic
