About this deal

Scream VI is released on 4K Ultra HD™ standard and Steelbook editions from Paramount and is available from the 10 th July. Death Comes to the City—From Woodsboro to the five boroughs, the filmmakers and cast discuss Ghostface’s reign of terror in the big city. Where Scream 6 excels is in its set pieces. With the new sandbox to play in, we get an unpredictable subway ride (with our heroes split over two trains) and a tense stalk-and-shoot in a bodega. The standout, however, is Gale's showdown with Ghostface, giving Courteney Cox the best sequence she's had in a Scream movie in some time. The horror sequel sees Sam and Tara Carpenter attempt to move on with their lives after the bloody events in Woodsboro. However, as is always the case, Ghostface is never far behind and they're soon fighting for their lives again.

Scream (2022) Limited-Edition Steelbook [4K UHD]

With the meta gags pared down from the previous couple of movies (although there are Easter eggs galore), the tone is darker and the kills feel more horrific. The movie does frustratingly pull its punches at times, though, which ends up at odds with Mindy's declaration that all bets are off this time around. Scream 6 — or, officially, Scream VI — arrives in cinemas a little over a year after 2022's Scream and presents an altogether different challenge.

The Faces of Death—Join the core four—Melissa Barrera, Jenna Ortega, Jasmin Savoy Brown and Mason Gooding—and the rest of the cast and crew as they discuss their return to the beloved horror franchise. The Night Train to Terror—Immerse yourself in this behind-the-scenes look at the terrifying NYC subway sequence on Halloween night. Premiering in March, the sixth instalment will provide the gang of Woodsboro survivors with a little change of scenery.

Scream VI 4K Blu-ray (4K Ultra HD + Digital 4K)

Scream 6 will eventually come to Paramount+ in the UK as well, but it's not yet available to watch on the streaming service in the UK as the countries have different catalogues of TV shows and movies to watch. We should get it out of the way that franchise regular (and possibly favorite?) Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell) isn’t in this film. Campbell let it be known that she didn’t like the offer she was given to appear in this film, so she declined. While I certainly wish she was here, these last two films have been more focused on the other characters. Sidney is at least mentioned, so that’s nice. A lot was said about this being the goriest entry in the Scream series. I wouldn’t try to debate that as there is quite a bit of blood and violence here. We catch up with Sam (Melissa Barrera) who has relocated to New York City where she keeps a too watchful eye on her half-sister, Tara (Jenna Ortega). It is understandable to some degree seeing as how they just suffered the loss of many, but it’s also normal for Tara to want to return to normalcy. We get much of the returning cast from the previous entry, and this includes franchise regular, Gale Cunningham (Courtney Cox). Also showing up here is Kirby (Hayden Panettiere) who was presumed dead in the 4 th film. Well, to be fair, her fate was a bit ambiguous and she’s now working for the F.B.I. We see in the opening sequence that Ghostface is still very much active. There are some nifty surprises early in the film. It throws a curveball or two at us, but then things slow down a good bit. And there lies one of my issues with Scream VI. I just don’t care about these characters as much as I did in at least the first two films. You could argue part 3 to some degree, but this just feels a bit too self-referential that it became tedious and annoying after a while. German, Spanish (Spanish and Latin American), French (French and Canadian), Italian and Japanese Dolby Digital 5.1 Being a fan of the entire franchise and of the last two entries in the series, I am most definitely walking into Scream VI with a strong favorable bias. But that is par for the course in any franchise, particularly in the horror genre. And frankly, that appears to be the whole point of this delightfully entertaining and surprisingly contemplative fifth sequel where the survivors of the previous movie must now confront the psychological trauma of those events along with facing a new Ghostface killer. In fact, the filmmakers essentially open the film by showing two reactionary extremes to that trauma in the Carpenter sisters, Sam (Melissa Barrera) and Tara (Jenna Ortega). While one sister prefers to ignore, disregard and refuse to deal with what happened, the other sister copes by becoming overly protective and exceedingly vigilant, seeing danger in every situation. Thankfully, the directors don't clumsily announce this with a heavy hand, but it's the poignantly subtle running theme that informs each character's choices and perspective on their current situation. But maybe that was needed, to be the first wobbly step on the journey that would eventually lead us all to The Big Apple. A re-acquaintance to the franchise's iconography, it's tone and its personality (not just for a single film but for the five entries up to that point), a cinematic refresher to hook us all in and prime us for the real return of Ghostface to come. And return he most certainly did... They're all dealing with their trauma in their own ways, such as Tara choosing to not let three days ruin her entire life. But however they're moving on (or not moving on in Sam's case), their attempts at starting new lives are about to hit a dead end. Literally. In the next installment, the survivors of the Ghostface killings leave Woodsboro behind and start a fresh chapter in New York City. Bloodbath at the Bodega, An Apartment to Die for, and The Night Train to Terror featurettes – an in-depth look behind three of the film’s key set-pieces (5 mins, 8 mins, 6 mins)
