My dog loves his patch and has made potty training so much easier 100 % recommend for any apartment living per The minute your pup positions himself to eliminateon the pad, be sure to say “go potty”so that he associates that word with the action of elimination. But it’s important that you do not rely on physical means of directing your puppy around. You want her to learn, as early as possible, to respond to your voice. Make going potty on pee pads easy, fun and rewarding while making going potty in other areas, difficult, boring and close to impossible (courtesy of managementand supervision).
Keep the pee pad on a surface that is easy to clean such as tile floor. If you must use carpet, place some tarp under it to prevent urine from seeping into the carpet. A huge advantage of successfully training your pup to use an indoor dog potty is that they won’t go anywhere else – for example, on your brand new and very expensive cream carpet! Excessive rain on your Piddle Patch should be avoided as it can impact lifespan and performance. While the grass will eventually dry, it can take some time, and be a longer process as the weather gets colder.
