About this deal

Basically, the differences lie in the combination of colors and the strap in some cases. Here are all the models:

Inside the Kano beats the Orient F6922 caliber, a precise, reliable, and in-house automatic mechanical movement. Like everything Orient manufactures, the Kano offers an excellent value for money, as it is both affordable and highly durable. The Seiko SKX007 has been the go-to watch for modders for the longest time. It's a no brainer - no other watch model has as many compatible mod parts. We’re talking about an automatic watch with a water resistance of 200 meters and a very versatile design, making it suitable for both diving and everyday wear. We have sword hands that match the assertiveness of the rectangular markers and a slender polished seconds hand adds a touch of elegance to the dial. I’m quite happy to see that the minute and seconds hands do extend right to the chapter ring which is something we don’t always see on larger sized entry-level watches.I have an Orient Kamasu (RA-AA0810N19B) – will your bezels fit it? I want to buy coin type & ceramic vintage style insert.

This movement is exactly the same as the one found in more expensive watches from the brand, such as the Orient Mako II or the Kamasu. There are 3rd party replacement bracelets that, despite being ~half the price of the watch, are a big upgrade over the original. Unless you really want the Ray I would get a new bracelet. The Orient Kano is one of the latest additions to the Japanese brand’s dive watch collection, known for its larger size and vintage inspiration. It is not as scratch-resistant as sapphire crystal, but it offers good visibility and is easier to repair or polish. It is also more affordable if eventual replacement is needed. It is also a screw-down crown, contributing to its water resistance, allowing this watch to be worn at depths of up to 200 meters. ➤ BezelThen again, for me, the star of the Orient Kano lineup is going to be that blue bezel set atop the 44mm steel case, especially paired to the steel bracelet. It is worth noting that, while the bracelet itself is solid link, the end links are not solid. Probably not a deal breaker at this price point, but something worth noting if you find yourself being a bit rough and tough on your bracelets.

The dial on this watch is simple and easy to read, which is essentially what is needed in a dive watch. The hands are large and sword-shaped, with applied hour markers framed in metal. The day and date window on the watch does not have a frame but is separated from the rest of the dial by a pair of thin lines above and below it. This provides a better grip, even with the crown guards flanking it, whose mission is to protect it from damage. It’s not a bad thing that this watch bears a resemblance to past successes, as it’s intended to resemble retro diving watches from other times.

The Orient Kano comes with either a rubber strap or stainless steel bracelet, depending on the model, both designed to fit 22 mm lugs. Would I wear it? I’d want to see how the bracelet is, but from what I’m seeing here, sure, I would. If you’re one for a simple yet sporty looking dial, this is one to consider. A flat deep green sunburst face and rectangular markers are basically what makes up the dial of this watch. A printed chapter ring continues the simplicity of the design and ensures no alignment issues. The Orient Kano was designed with a clear goal in mind: to be a vintage-style watch that looks much more expensive than it actually is. If you have a preference for microbrands, particularly Orient watches, you must be painfully aware that there are not a lot of modding options for their watches despite having similar build profiles to the popular Seiko SKX line. If you want something that looks new on your wrist, your only option would be to buy another model.

While the hands and markers provide plenty of real estate for lume application, I was honestly hoping it would be a bit brighter than it actually is. Now don’t get me wrong as it is still on par with the lume found on the Mako and the Ray, however the size of the markers didn’t really offer as much luminescence as I had expected. It is still very useable, just that given the amount of room there is on the hands and markers, I did expect it to be a bit closer to the brightness of the Orient Stars. However, the steel bracelet tapers down to 20 mm at the clasp, making the bracelet more comfortable and adding a nice visual detail to the watch. Biggest difference between the Kamasu and usa II are the indicies on the dial. I also believe the bezel design on the Kamasu fits better, height wise, to the crystals top/finished edge. The usa II bezel insert is raised above the crystal by 1mm. Overall, although this bracelet isn’t as solid feeling as aftermarket options that cost as much as half the watch, I don’t feel any less confident about using it for everyday rigours. But if it really isn’t to your liking, the 22mm lug width offers you an abundance of third party options.Additionally, it is available in a wide variety of different models, featuring truly eye-catching finishes and colors. Due to its size, some people with small or medium-sized wrists may not enjoy the sensations this watch imparts.
