Kaspar is proud to be one of the Guardians - an elite peacekeeping force who protect the Alliance against the rebel Insurgency. Then he encounters young rebel Rhea.

Cameron desperately needs a new heart when he is offered the opportunity to take part in a radical and controversial experiment involving the transplant of a pig's heart. A thrilling detective story littered with wild and wonderful inventions from the award-winning author of PIG-HEART BOY and NOUGHTS AND CROSSES. Nothing interesting ever happens in Cleevesdon with the exception of the odd explosion coming from the shed in Mr. Conran’s garden. So when kaboom turns to kidnap, fingerprint dust will fly. It was a great book full of adventure and fun. I like Detective Warner, this book is fiction. I would recommend it to my friend Owen.It interested me because I like the genre of mystery. In 2008 Malorie received an OBE for her services to children's literature, and between 2013 and 2015 she was the Children's Laureate. Most recently, Malorie wrote for the Doctor Who series on BBC One, and the fifth novel in her Noughts & Crosses series, Crossfire, is published by Penguin Random House Children's. This theme builds upon prior learning on South America, rainforest and Rivers, supporting us with developing our webs of knowledge in these areas. Our class read is Journey to The River Sea which we use to write stories, poetry and information reports. Our geography knowledge is developed on South America by learning about the physical features of the landscape including the rivers and rainforest. Our art focus is on producing prints of leaves and plants in the style of Frida Kahlo and developing our sketching skills. In science we return to electricity and look at equity and experiments on compound and more advanced circuits. This has all the best bits of a child-friendly episode of CSI (Crime Scene Investigation) - looking for clues, dusting for fingerprints, gathering evidence and setting traps. Children will love working alongside the girls - playing detective and solving the mystery. Don’t be surprised to find readers going around the house with pieces of sellotape or cocoa powder on the hunt for finger prints. Operation Gadgetman is the story of Bean a.k.a Beatrice and her unconventional inventor Dad, otherwise known as 'Gadgetman'.

Beans is a likeable lead, and despite the unlikely series of events that the story relates, her relationships with her friends and family are warmly and believably portrayed. A lively (if not madcap) adventure that will find fans amongst younger readers. The whole story about a father who is a great inventor, but later gets kidnapped and his very much intelligent and adventurous daughter trying to rescue him is entertaining. There is a great description and the plot doesn't drag on. Many parts are also expected, but I think the part about the ATM invention was the best.
