The PlayStation Multitap was originally available in gray (SCPH-1070 U) to match the original console's color, however it was later re-released in white as well (SCPH-1070 UH) to match the colors of the later PS one redesign. Both versions are compatible with the original PS one, as well as all models of the PlayStation 2 prior to the SCPH-70000 series. Both versions of SCPH-1070 will only function with original PlayStation games, while multiplayer PS2 games required a separate multitap, the SCPH-10090. [2] PlayStation 2 consoles after the SCPH-70000 series require the SCPH-70120 multitap, which is compatible with both PS and PS2 software. The video game genre of demolition-based racers has dwindled in more recent years in favor of more traditional titles, but Twisted Metal was one of the original PlayStation’s flagship titles and the series’ big debut on the PlayStation 2 does not disappoint. The Nintendo 64’s GoldenEye 007 is still looked at as one of the best multiplayer games of all time and The PS2’s 007: Nightfire is the console’s attempt to cash in on the previous title’s success. Nightfall crafts an original story and the multiplayer features many love letters to classic James Bond films.

It is an adapter that can be used to plug in up to four controllers and memory cards at the same time in a single controller port. With a second multitap, up to eight controllers and memory cards can be plugged at once. [1] Compatibility [ edit ] means that we did not get the chance (or the idea) to test it, or that no one let us know that it works. Many systems were not designed with multitaps in mind, and so require some clever design to work. Because of this, games usually have to be specially written to include multitap support.Micro Machines v4: Micro Machines! The little cars starred in some great games, most notably on the Genesis. V4 was kind of the end of the line for the series, and while it certainly didn’t impress with its production values, its multiplayer experience is still purely entertaining. It’s best experienced in party play, and can make for some purely-silly temporary intense rivalries. I know this is an old thread but I figured out why some games seem to be unable to work with the multitap option.

The original PlayStation Multitap was one of the earliest peripherals released for the platform. It featured not only four additional controller ports, but also four memory card slots for each of them as well. Like the Team Player adapter for the Genesis, two PlayStation Multitaps could be used at the same time for up to eight controllers and memory cards, although very few games allowed for more than five players.
