Mr Penguin advertises in ‘The Cityville Times,’ looking for adventure and this comes when he gets his first call, from Boudicca Bones at the Museum of Extraordinary Objects. Ms Bones is desperate to find the treasure that her great-great-great-grandfather buried somewhere in the museum and Mr Penguin is sure he can help her. Mr Penguin and Colin (a spider and Mr Penguin’s silent right hand man) are called in to find the missing treasure somewhere in the Museum of Extraordinary Objects. The quest finds them solving secret codes, fighting ferocious beasts, eating fish finger sandwiches and travelling deep below the museum to a lost jungle…

Dashing detective Mr. Penguin and his Adventuring gang are in for a wild ride when they board a luxury cruise ship. From Alex T. Smith’s delightfully illustrated, mystery-detective series. From the international bestselling creator of Claude, comes a brand new hero - Mr Penguin, adventurer and penguin. The fact that our author, Alex Smith, is responsible for the amusing "Claude" series was all I needed to interest me in this book, the first in a new "Mr. Penguin" series. This one seems aimed at a slightly older crowd, but has the same charm and appeal as the "Claude" books. Things really take a turn for the worse when Mr. Penguin learns the real crooks are closer to snatching the loot than he thought! Can Mr. Penguin foil this perilous plot and get home in time for a fish finger sandwich? I thought that this book was really funny. You see, I like books with lots of action and adventure and thrill and this book has all of it. Mr penguin is sometimes a bit dumb but he is also very good at focusing on what he is doing. If you’re in Aventura you must read this it’s about a penguin and his friends goes on an adventure I rate it 4 out of 5 it is a very good Book From the internationally bestselling creator of Claude comes a hero like no other: Mr Penguin. Indiana Jones meets Hercule Poirot in this series from Alex T. Smith, ideal for 7+ readers of Dave Pigeon.

Today I am doing the reading challenge 2020 and my chosen book is, Mr Penguin And The Lost Treasure. After befriending a young stowaway, Mr. Penguin discovers someone is planning on endangering the lives of the rich and famous on board to chase after the Fountain of Youth. Can Mr. Penguin foil this perilous plot and get home in time for a fish finger sandwich? This was an absolute hoot of a book! I enjoyed reading it aloud to my kids and they kept begging for the next chapter and the next chapter, and now the next book. Can’t wait to continue our adventures with Mr. Penguin!

I liked this book. this is book 3 in the series. this book is a chapter book. this book is about Mr. penguin and his friends going on a boat. but unex... When a poison tide flowing across the ocean threatens their island, Roz works with the resident creatures to ensure that they will have clean water, but the destruction of vegetation and crowding of habitats jeopardize everyone’s survival. Brown’s tale of environmental depredation and turmoil is by turns poignant, graceful, endearing, and inspiring, with his (mostly) gentle robot protagonist at its heart. Though Roz is different from the creatures she lives with or encounters—including her son, Brightbill the goose, and his new mate, Glimmerwing—she makes connections through her versatile communication abilities and her desire to understand and help others. When Roz accidentally discovers that the replacement body given to her by Dr. Molovo is waterproof, she sets out to seek help and discovers the human-engineered source of the toxic tide. Brown’s rich descriptions of undersea landscapes, entertaining conversations between Roz and wild creatures, and concise yet powerful explanations of the effect of the poison tide on the ecology of the island are superb. Simple, spare illustrations offer just enough glimpses of Roz and her surroundings to spark the imagination. The climactic confrontation pits oceangoing mammals, seabirds, fish, and even zooplankton against hardware and technology in a nicely choreographed battle. But it is Roz’s heroism and peacemaking that save the day. Dashing detective Mr. Penguin and his Adventuring gang are in for a wild ride after they crash-land on a snow-drenched mountain. From Alex T. Smith’s delightfully illustrated, mystery-detective series. I liked Mr Penguin's pet spider because he is Mr Penguin's launch pad when he's about to solve a mystery. This is a good story and is easy to read. Home > Smart" might seem to be an odd word to use to describe a funsy chapter book, but that's one of the distinguishing aspects of this book. The vocabulary isn't unfairly demanding, but Smith sometimes uses words that offer just enough challenge to engage an older reader and to broaden the reading experience. ("The sun was just peeking up above the roofs of the skyscrapers and sparkling off their windows. It made the entire town look like it was covered in sequins.") Sentences are complex, and there's enough subtle irony and deadpan humor mixed in to make the text a bit more sophisticated than seems usual to me. Sure signs that the creative wells are running dry at last, the Captain’s ninth, overstuffed outing both recycles a villain (see Book 4) and offers trendy anti-bullying wish fulfillment. Claude won the 5-9 young fiction Sainsbury’s Children’s Book Award, was selected for the Waterstone’s Children’s Book Prize, the Richard and Judy Book Club and is soon to be a TV star on Disney Junior with 52 episodes airing in 2017.
