It’s wild to describe a box set containing 31 separate discs as “bare bones,” but that’s exactly what this “Middle-Earth Ultimate Collector’s Edition” set is. It has the movies, and that’s virtually it. Now, to be fair, you’re getting all the movies, both in 4K UHD and remastered on the standard Blu-ray format, including both the theatrical and the extended editions. It’s a little hard to visualize, so here’s a breakdown of what the set contains: p. 50: Ring-inscription is rejected original drawing, with an incorrect letter ( hwesta in place of unque, changing word agh, ‘and’, to akh) in middle of second line.

Probably even more than normal Collector Boosters, this release does seem like one that’s mostly just for collectors of Magic. There are only a handful of new cards here, so the main appeal is just the new treatments of these cards. From Wizards’ perspective, the purpose is likely to release a product tied to a popular IP that comes out around the holidays. Though they share the name of the set released in June, these boosters aren’t coming out until November. Since they were announced, players have been expressing some confusion over what exactly is in these new boosters. This confusion is understandable, as Wizards doesn’t usually release products seemingly from the same set months apart from one another.
