About this deal

Maybe some of you have already figured this out. We use this method to get a value that’s 40% more than the value in the “pth” location. The license created by this agreement is personal to you and you may not assign or otherwise transfer your rights or obligations under this agreement without the prior written consent of Korg. Now we move on to the main processing. We’ll first skip to explain the function at the very bottom. Since it’s time for us to create our effect, I’ll be in charge of this part, as the designer of the DSP. If any part of this Agreement is found by a court of competent jurisdiction or other competent authority to be invalid, unlawful or unenforceable then such part shall be severed from the remainder of this Agreement which will continue to be valid and enforceable to the fullest extent permitted by law.

The NTS-1 comes with a diverse variety of music software from Izotope including “Ozone Elements” which lets you not only create songs but also master them using AI, “Skoove” which will help you improve your keyboard playing skills, “Reason Lite” DAW software, as well as software synths from Korg and other brands.

Simply put, if you don’t want the contents of the variable to be erased every time a process is executed, set it to “static”, and the contents will be maintained.

MIDI channel setting is not what you think, starts from 0 so if set to 1 receives and sends on channel 2! See online forums for details. Once I figured this out it was easy to set up so parameters are controlled from a Roland A-01. For Linux, which is basically Unix, or macOS, which is based on Unix, you’ll be able to install using a bare minimum of tools. However, for Windows you’ll need an additional environment that can execute Unix commands. Simply put, MSYS2 is a platform for executing Unix commands on Windows. Because of this, if you’re developing with Windows and MSYS2, you’ll run your commands within the “MSYS2” window. This value comes in fixed decimal format as we covered earlier, so we need to first convert it to floating point. In this example, we convert fixed decimal Q31 format into 32-bit floating point, and store the result in a variable called “valf”. We use “const” when the data content should not be changed. Try searching for this if you need more details. Right, now here's the part that you've all been waiting for; that magical Multi-Engine digital oscillator and effects engine. This is the same Multi-Engine digital oscillator that's found on the Prologue and the Minilogue XD and is compatible with all the third-party oscillators and effects that have been written for them. But there are some caveats. Due to limitations in the hardware interface you may not get access to all the physically available parameters. Also, it will allocate parameters on a first-come-first-served basis, and so if the custom oscillator hasn't been tweaked for the NTS‑1 then it might not select the most helpful ones. And lastly, remember that this is a monophonic synthesizer and many of the lovely demos you see on the Prologue and Minilogue XD use their polyphony with great effect. With those things understood, let's jump in.You agree that the express obligations and warranties made by Korg in this Agreement are (so far as is permitted by law) in lieu of and to the exclusion of any other warranty, condition, term, undertaking or representation of any kind, express or implied, statutory or otherwise, relating to anything supplied or services provided under or in connection with this Agreement including (without limitation) any warranty as to the condition, quality, performance, merchantability or fitness for purpose of the Licensed Program and the Services or any part of them. Honestly, it probably seemed pretty intimidating, I imagine. That said, processing the digital data that was input, outputting and then repeating forms the basics of all digital effects programs.

The Nu:Tekt NTS-1 is more Monotron than Volca – certainly in appearance – but it’s also very much its own instrument. For a start, you have to build it yourself, and its single monophonic digital oscillator is capable of loading custom oscillators that have been developed for Korg’s Prologue and Minilogue XD synths. This feature alone should be enough to pique your interest. There are two methods used to show the sizes of numbers in digital audio data: fixed decimal and floating point. Floating point is commonly used in our ordinary lives, in the same way as when we say "50% more." It's easier for people to understand. However, the downside of floating point is that calculations get processed slower. Because of its size, the NTS-1 does have some limitations. The ribbon keyboard is fine for triggering the arpeggiator (which can be latched, by the way), but not so great for actually playing anything (you’ll be making use of that MIDI Input), and many features have to be accessed by holding down a button and turning a knob, so you’ll need the manual to hand for a while at least. What happens is that the sounds of the synth and external input get mixed together and then processed by the effect. You can try it out and see what I mean. The main oscillator can produce Sawtooth, Triangle, Square and VPM waveforms, and can load custom oscillators created from Korg’s logue SDK, which means it’s compatible with content created for prologue and Minilogue XD. These waveforms can be easily re-shaped and adjusted just by simply turning a couple of knobs.

This is where we use the data previously received from the knobs. At last, here it is! The data we received is from 0–1, so if we want to get a value of 64 from the maximum number (1), we need to multiply it by 64. This is for the final “if” statement, so that the “next” does not exceed the array. You’ve seen this before, right? Korg provides no warranty in relation to any Third Party Software supplied and all warranties whether express or implied as to the condition, quality, performance, merchantability or fitness for purpose of the Third Party Software or any part of the same are (in so far as may be permitted by law) hereby excluded. It’s also USB micro-B powered so you can plug it directly to a portable battery and take it anywhere with you! You can also connect to your computer’s USB port or directly to the power supply using a standard USB power plug.

NTS-1 is also completely compatible with the logue-SDK*, making it possible to create custom oscillators and effects or upload any of the content available for minilogue xd and prologue. float s1L = s_delay_ram[prev * 2]; float s2L = s_delay_ram[next * 2]; float s1R = s_delay_ram[prev * 2 + 1]; float s2R = s_delay_ram[next * 2 + 1]; Using Notepad, Hidemaru or whatever text editor you prefer, open the “main.c” file located in the “bitcrusher” folder.
