Vet agreed it was worth trying him off the meds to see but I think it's going to be ongoing so obviously want him comfortable. My limited understanding is that yumove and the like work best before any issues become apparent to protect the joints but not sure if that's true or not.

With rimadyl on top of the jointsure, that is great if i need him to lie still over an extended time to give a very thorough grooming. Heidi’s been on Jointsure (initially Yumove) since a soft tissue injury when she was 8. (Took months of slowly, slowly to resolve) Without it I notice a difference. With it, she’s full of beans. I don't know if they make a difference as I use as a preventive. We also use Dorwest herbs codliver oil tablets. I have started the Gabapentin again this morning (vet had said to if necessary) but knowing Loxicom upset him before, wonder if it’s worth trying the Yumove first. Different dogs react differently to individual supplements so one person may see an effect and another nothing. She was later diagnosed with a spinal problem though so most of her pain is nerve related (she's on gabapentin and paracetamol). My mum's fox terrier (low grade luxating patella) and mum-in-law's schnauzer (TPLO) both use Yumove and it definitely seems to make a difference to their comfort. They'll both be 10 this year Does anyone give this to their dog and do you think it’s made a difference to mobility and/or pain and discomfort?
