Send the robot vacuum cleaner on its first cleaning job at the touch of a button in the app - it’ll do the rest. Since the Roomba i7+ probably cleans the home several times a week, dirt can hardly accumulate in the corners.

The robotic vacuum cleans our home almost every day. Dirt can hardly accumulate on carpets or in corners. The dust bag in the clean base is large and takes quite a long time to fill up, depending on how dirty your home is. If you have pets, it’ll fill up much faster. Unfortunately, the i7+ can’t climb stairs yet, but you can easily transport it from floor to floor, thanks to the convenient carrying handle.

The iRobot app is another highlight of the Roomba i7 Plus. The app offers a lot of great features and is still super user-friendly. What you get here is regular maintenance cleaning: the Roomba i7+ will cope with most daily spills, but you’ll need to take out your standard vacuum cleaner once a week or so to fully deal with your home.

That said, even if you run your Roomba i7+ daily, that adds up to a rather tiny operating cost every two to three months. That’s not too shabby, but you might bristle at how much cash iRobot stands to make on these bag replacements. The map will be ready to go after 3 - 4 cleaning runs at the latest, so you can access it in the app. Roomba i7+ is suitable for pet owners because pet hair can’t wrap itself around the rubber brushes. However, it’s quite expensive: with the Clean Base, the RRP is similar to that of the Dyson 360 Heurist, which proved to be more powerful in tests. You’ll have to decide if the convenience of automatic emptying is worth the money, compared to a robot that cleans deeper. However, your Roomba i7+ won’t come out of box knowing how every room in your home is laid out. It will have to learn them through its first few cleanings. During this process, the cleaning pattern of the Roomba i7+ will look much like that of the Roomba 980, as viewable through the companion app.
