About this deal

When shooting in FreeFrame mode, there isn't scope to adjust the degree of stabilization – that's managed post-capture – but in standard video mode, you can choose between three levels or turn it off. GO 3 can allow you to capture better footage during a variety of activities. Perfect for hands-free POV. The tiny size makes it easy to mount anywhere, your imagination is the limit. Lowlight performance is weak, as is the case with all action cameras, so if the lights drop, your phone will likely do a better job of capturing videos.

The GO 3 has been designed with a large battery, letting you shoot for up to 50% longer than the previous GO 2. The Go 3 now has 45 minutes of run time on its own or 173 minutes of run time when paired with the Action Pod. Bye-bye bumps. Our signature FlowState Stabilization means seriously steady footage. Shakes, bumps or rolls are removed—perfect for when the action gets rough!Insta360 might be best known for its 360-degree cameras but, thanks to its modular and wearable cameras, it’s also making inroads into traditional action camera markets. The Insta360 Go 3 is the firm’s latest offering in this segment and it’s one of the cleverest action cameras I’ve ever seen. Compatible with iOS mobile devices with chips A11 or above and iOS version 11.0 or above, including iPhone SE 2, iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone XR, iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone X, iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, iPhone 11 Pro Max, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 12 Pro Max, iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro, iPhone 13 Pro Max, iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Pro, iPhone 14 Pro Max, iPad Air (2020), iPad Pro and newer iPad models. Android Devices: This GO 3 has a 64GB capacity of storage space. Which mobile devices are compatible with the Insta360 GO 3? iOS Devices: Without the Pod, the Go 3 is as basic as it gets. The camera module has a single button that, by default, starts a recording. You can swap its default capture mode via the camera menu (accessible via the Action Pod's screen) or require a double press to minimize accidental recordings. A red tally lamp on the Go 3 flashes when it's rolling footage. The ActionPod and Go 3 are a huge step up from the Go 2, adding loads of functionality and making the whole experience more intuitive

No hands Camera. Go completely hands-free! Simply set it and forget about it for easy, ultra-wide POV shots in 2.7K. The Go 3's light weight means it can be magnetically mounted wherever you find a compatible metal surface. While the Action Pod is magnetic, too, it's too heavy to mount sideways.

Perfectly level horizon. Do a barrel roll! GO 3 doesn't mind. Unbeatable levelling technology means your video stays upright no matter what! By itself, the Go 3 camera has an IPX8 waterproof rating, which means you can use it for snorkeling or swimming at depths of up to 16 feet (5 meters). The IPX4-rated Action Pod housing is fine to use in the rain but isn't submersible. It measures 1.9 by 2.5 by 1.2 inches and weighs 3.4 ounces. The Insta360 Go 3 is an ingenious camera. It’s well made and easy to use, and the design is impressively versatile. Image quality is pretty good, too and it’s stuffed with clever shooting modes.

Android devices with Snapdragon 845 and above chips, including Samsung Galaxy S9, Xiaomi Mi 8 or newer models.Looking to upgrade your equipment? As a bonus, though, the Insta360 Go 3 provides a wide selection of shooting modes, ranging from the usual timeshift, interval and slow motion modes, through to the new Freeform, which allows you to capture video that can be cropped to horizontal or vertical video modes in post. Also worth noting is that Insta360 has added a new loop mode, which makes this camera useful for anyone who wants to use the camera as a kind of cycling dashcam. The star of the show, however, is the charging case, which Insta360 calls the “Action Pod”. Slot the camera into this and the Insta360 Go 3 turns into a GoPro clone, complete with a 2.2in articulating touchscreen and booster battery.

Given the camera's price, I was impressed with the selection of accessories it ships with, so I put them to the test too. It was great to get a sense of how the Go 3 changes a filming workflow thanks to its magnetic mounting and wireless ActionPod compared to traditional action cameras. The Insta360 GO 3 shoots in UltraWide (for selfie vlogs), ActionView (for bike rides and in-vehicle), Linear (for all-around scenarios), and Narrow (close-ups) in a plethora of video modes: Video, Freeframe Video, Timelapse, TimeShift (hyperlapse) and a Slow Motion mode (1440p at 120 fps). Also on board are Pre-recording, Loop Recording, and Timed Capture. The latter – an auto-start at a scheduled time – will be handy for those wanting to shoot a sunrise while they stay in bed.Insta360's FreeFrame feature is also a lot of fun, and perfect for less experienced shooters. It lets you capture photos and videos, and then reframe your shot easily within the app. While it only appears to capture 16:9 footage, the Go 3 actually shoots a more square frame, so you can losslessly switch between 16:9, 19:6, and 1:1. The Action Pod's touch controls were also intuitive, borrowing the menu system from other Insta360 action cameras and tuning it to the Go 3's capabilities. Within the settings, I was able to do things on the touch display that I couldn't do in the smartphone app, such as turn off the LED light on the front of the camera and mute the beeping noise. Video recorded in low light situations can look good, too, but you’ll need to be much more careful how you hold the camera. I found the image stabilisation struggled to maintain smoothness without introducing shimmering artefacts into clips, even when I was indulging in relatively gentle activities. Before I even cover image quality, I have to commend Insta360 for making a wireless controller that works so reliably. Having the small Action Pod to hand and seeing what the Go 3 was recording, even when it was out of eyeshot, was incredibly liberating. Yes, wireless control has been available via the smartphone app for a while, but the Action Pod's compact size made it feel much less clunky than navigating the Insta360 app when filming. Yes, the Insta360 GO 3 can record video in fantastic 2.7k. How much memory does the Insta360 GO 3 have?
