Hi-Gear 28-Litre 12V 240V Cooler (grey) - Millets

To replicate getting bits in and out of the bag, we opened and closed it at regular intervals throughout the test. This spacious 28-litre electric cooler is the perfect piece of kit when you’re throwing a picnic for the whole family. It’s capable of keeping your food and drinks up to 18 degrees below ambient temperature. It's important to research the different options and models available, and choose one that fits your needs and preferences. Also, make sure to compare the features, performance, and price of the different options to find the best cool box for your camping trips. Why choose an electric cool box? The Outdoor Revolution cooler range all provide similar performance. The only difference is the sizes on offer. For the 45 litre, the main attributes are: A cool box keeps food and drink cool by insulating it from the outside environment. Unlike cool bags, which rely on the material properties of the bag to provide this insulation, there are different types of cool box. Some work in different ways: A 20 litre capacity is not going to set the world on fire if you’re planning a long trip, but it’s ample for a night or two away. Hi-Gear make cheap, dependable equipment and we were impressed with the quality of plastic used on this cooler. It looks more expensive than it is!

Cooling is by the thermoelectric effect and again is a little limited. It will get you to around 10°C in our experience on a standard UK spring day (i.e. not too hot outside). Vonshef actually suggest 12°C as the minimum temperature which is way off from where we would prefer to be – around 5-6°C. Still, it can definitely chill and is great for cooling drinks in this respect, when you don’t have to be completely ice cold. We think 20 – 30 litres is the sweet spot for a camping trip away for one to four people. It can store just enough stuff to keep you all going for a few days, and the fewer of you there are, the longer you can last between reloading! We tested both electric cool boxes and passive ones, on everything from insulation to durability and portability. Our testing revealed one passive and two electric cool boxes that impressed enough to earn our Best Buy recommendation. The best cool boxes The 45l ECO Deep offers the convenience of using either AC (240V) or DC (12V) power connection. Current draw is low at only 5 amps, even on 12V power which means a typical 100Ah leisure battery will not get drained until after about 20 hours of continuous operation.Size You'll generally find that cool boxes have larger capacities. You can get cool bags up to 50 litres, but if you need more consider a cool box instead. The cooler can be easily switched between hot and cold settings, making it perfect for keeping your cold drinks icy cold or maintaining the temperature of hot food. It also comes with an integrated handle for easy transportation, making it ideal for long days in the great outdoors! Delivered Monday to Saturday 8am-8pm, excluding bank holidays. Once despatched you will receive updates from the courier.

It also features two removable shelves inside so you have plenty of space for anything – from your favorite beer to a good old Cornish pasty!Need to know: Rubber pads to prevent sliding; five-year warranty; also available in 48 and 60-litre sizes; other colours available The EcoCool could also be called the EcoHeat as the cooling action can be switched to heat for temperatures up to 60°C higher than ambient. This is plenty for keeping soup or pies warm whilst you go out for a late night winter walk. This cool box has all year round use! We tested passive cool boxes and electric cool boxes from major UK retailers and brands. We bought every product we tested, so you can be sure our opinion isn't biased by us receiving freebies. Insulation The best cool boxes keep the contents chilled better for longer. The best electric cool boxes cooled the chilled bottles of water to an even lower temperature by the end of the day than when we put them in. Leakproof
