Using items correctly to interact with the environment is the main way to progress the game, but you'll also sometimes encounter people you can talk with, and sometimes even monster bosses! You can't participate in normal combat in Goosebumps The Game, but you can interact with others and use items to move forward in such encounters.

Brain Juice: There's an achievement called, "Using Good Ol' Brain Juice." This is achieved by using the cell phone to call R.L. Stine.
