The Fuss-Free Family Cookbook: No more separate meals for

All the delicious flavours of a Caesar Salad bulked out with pasta for a filling, family-friendly lunch. Add the gnocchi, mix well and continue to simmer on low for another 7–8 minutes until the gnocchi is cooked through. I choose this book for a few different reasons. The first reason is because of the title. I have a toddler so the idea of no fuss family meals sounded great to me. The second reason is because I recognized the author.Celebrity chef, Ryan Scott, is the author of The No-Fuss Family Cookbook: Simple Recipes for Everyday Life, a cookbook filled with fairly simple recipes that are suitable for families. This cookbook has all the elements of an excellent cookbook: easy recipes, ingredients that most of us have in our pantry and freezer, beautiful photographs (mostly of the dishes, but an extra dose of pictures of his daughter; he obviously thinks she’s adorable and more interesting than the food), and notes at the beginning of each recipe that give explanations. Each of the recipes includes an introductory description, ingredients listed in a bullet point sidebar (US measurements only), and step by step instructions. Nutritional info is not included. I believe all of the recipes are accompanied by photographs. The photos provided are high quality and clear and serving suggestions are attractive and appropriate. This is definitely a beautifully photographed cookbook. Younger children may find this easier if you separate the items out on their plate and cut the tortillas into triangles.

I absolutely was waiting for this book and I am a huge fan of Top Chef and contestants like Ryan Scott were definitely the most memorable and I remember his out of the box dishes he presented and how talented he is. I remember him saying that in his parent's restaurant, his father fired two cooks in the first week because he outcooked them at 11 years old. So I expected nothing but the best in this cookbook and now he is a family man, I was blown away at how easy he made these recipes and how fun they are to do with children (his daughter Olive is adorable). I can't wait to try the PB&J Pancakes, The no knead English Muffins and the buttermilk biscuits with almost no sugar jam. I know this will be a hit with our Cooking Demo and I can't wait to share it with our library. community. I love cookbooks... Always have and always will. But I also like to see some humor in it, to feel like my friend wrote it etc.... I’ve never heard of Ryan Scott but apparently he’s a chef with a good reputation. I was expecting more interesting dishes but this book is boring and too long, none of the dishes were inspiring and the family photos just naff. There are far better cookery books out there and I wouldn’t bother with another of his books. Directions are easy to follow and start with a paragraph or two about why they developed the recipe.Wonderful colour pictures of the food (and the authors very cute daughter). Easy to follow instructions. I also loved the authors notes for each recipe. Like which buns to buy. Freezing instructions and prepping ahead.
