I have two sisters, Novo,” Coach said, his eyes right on her. “And a mom I’d go to war for. I know how hard it is to be a young woman, period. But to be the only young woman on a team of young men, to face the pressure and scrutiny that you have, and to have handled it with the poise you did?” He shook his head. “That took real guts. And real grit. And it’s been an honor to be your coach this season.” Book Genre: Academic, Adult, College, Contemporary, Contemporary Romance, Football, New Adult, New Adult Romance, Romance, Sports, Sports Romance This story surprised me in all the best ways. You have a heroine who's had to fight for her place in a men's sport. You have a hero who's struggled with so much, the obstacle between them most of all. And you have the absolute best combination of angst, banter, and humor in a way only Kandi can write it.

He was being a disrespectful ass,” Zeke said, his eyes narrowing. “I didn’t realize you were the only one allowed to point that fact out and put him in his place.” I didn't always love Riley. I thought occasionally she could be... kind of a bitch for no reason. I often felt sorry for Zeke for the way she treated him. I also think the conflict at the end of the book actually wasn't that big of a deal and didn't warrant her reaction at all, so I found it difficult not to find her a little bit ridiculous. Oof, Kandi Steiner didn’t give me enough of a warning about how this book would make me feel. I always go into Kandi’s stories prepared to cry and/or soul’s been wrung dry. And with Fair Catch I definitely went through all of the feelings. While not as angsty as I expected it to be, I didn’t care. Because Riley and Zeke delivered a story that was part redemption, part falling in love for the first time and all of it tied together with what is becoming one of my favourite tropes—frenemies to lovers. Good but basic. There’s no plot but it’s still entertaining and tbh brother's best friend does it for me every.single.time. Zeke was the sweetest and such a golden retriever, he had me blushing the whole time. And I liked Riley, though she sometimes pissed me off when mentioned to him how ‘lazy’ he was at college and made him feel bad because of his dyslexia. Other than that all pretty good and I like the couple they make.A friends to enemies to lovers? A cheeky bit of forced proximity? Some delicious steam? A little dose of “I think I kind of love when you hate me” and “I don’t want casual. I want more.”? I accidentally read the second book before this one, but I didn’t love this one quiiiiiite as much as Blind Side. However, it did really like it! Zeke and Riley grew up as great friends, while her twin brother Gavin is best friends with Zeke. Something tragic happens when they’re sixteen that Riley blames Zeke for and she hates him for it. There’s risk in every decision we make,” Clay said. “You just have to decide which risk is worth taking. My Review He thinks because we grew up together that it’s his role to protect me, but all he does is get in my way, make me look weak, and piss me off more.⁣⁣ You can forgive. Forgive, and understand that we’re human. We’re not perfect. And one day when you make a mistake, you’ll want someone to afford you the same grace.”

When Kandi isn’t writing, you can find her reading books of all kinds, planning her next adventure, or pole dancing (yes, you read that right). She enjoys live music, traveling, hiking, yoga, playing with her fur babies and soaking up the sweetness of life. Zeke Collins, be still my beating heart, this man right here. Listen, I love me some Zeke ok. Charming and protective. Incredibly thoughtful. He wasn’t perfect, but he owned his mistakes. I loved how in touch he was with his emotions and not afraid of being vulnerable. He always led with the best intentions. His heart is what stole mine. He thinks because we grew up together that it’s his role to protect me, but all he does is get in my way, make me look weak, and piss me off more.

She took particular interest in writing romance after college, as she has always been a die hard hopeless romantic, and likes to highlight all the challenges of love as well as the triumphs. This book had me by the throat. I read this baby in one sitting because I refused to put it down. All things adulting completely ignored and I have not a single regret. Kandi Steiner delivered in giving me the most tantalizingly addictive story. Somebody who betters you,” I started. “Somebody who inspires and encourages you in love and in life, who pushes you toward dreams and goals you’d otherwise ignore, who selflessly sacrifices their time to help you become a more courageous, well rounded and happy human being. That’s sacred,” I said, swallowing before I finished. “You hold on to a love like that.” Steamin’ up the room -the sexual content is more explicit in the language and tone, heavier amount of sexual scenes. Ignore him,” Clay said. I knew he was talking about Kyle, but I had my laser beam gaze fixed on Zeke.
