I'm a big fan of inflatable tents after having borrowed a Berghaus Air 8 last year. I bought this Airgo for a last minute camping trip Easter 2019. Great price, available for collection locally, and good spec. An easily-pitched inflatable tent for up to eight, ideal for comfy weekends away with family or friends. Now this is the part where I expect to add quite often that ‘considering its price’. As I said before, there will be some head-scratching moments, might be even a deal-breaker for some. Others would say that these are only smaller issues that are easy to live with, or not issues at all. We are all different, and that’s fine.

The external size of the whole tent is 250cm x 595. You have a 190cms high ceiling measured at the middle of the tent, that becomes gradually less as you go into the bedrooms. It seems a bit low – especially if you compare it to other tents that have more than 2.1 metres high ceiling – but once inside, it doesn’t feel uncomfortable with my 186cms. Although I must bend a little bit as I enter the tent, but in general, it does not feel too low. That got us thinking though, that we’re looking at every possible item from Eurohike so it would be good to narrow our search down even further and only look at Eurohike branded products within the Inflatable Tents category. A higher thread count represents a greater density and tighter weave in the fabric. For this reason you will often find lower Denier fabrics (with a ‘thinner’ thread) have a higher thread count. Not in this case, 185T is a very low thread number. The downside to buying online is that you can’t actually get hold of the product to try it out first.

The tent is clearly made to a price though. Its a third of the cost of the Berghaus, and it shows! The size is about the same (although spec tells me its slightly smaller), but the materials are not to the same quality. The air beams are fairly flimsy, but functional. The pump that comes with the tent is very basic - including a pressure regulator to prevent over inflation, but no dial to show the pressure. The pump tube must be pushed onto the air beam rather than clipped to it. This was VERY frustrating when blowing the tent up - you need a second person to hold the tube in place or it flies off. The Berghaus pump clips in place, and has a pressure dial so you know how you're doing. Its simple layout has two spacious bedrooms that face each other on either side of a generous central hall/living area.
