About this deal

Featuring a solid sitka spruce top, the Epiphone AJ-220SCE is a great balance between a serious acoustic guitar and an affordable one! This Epiphone Acoustic with solid top has an advantage of non-solid top guitars as the guitar's soundboard will resonate more freely, and "project" the sound with more clarity and sustain. With its bell-like shape featuring a larger lower bout and a smaller, round upper bout, the AJ-220SCE has a focused and balanced tone. The bass is deep, rich, and loud while the highs have a crispness and brilliance that cuts through. Most noticeable however, is the AJ-220SCE's clear mid-range that's never muddy like a square-shouldered dreadnought. The Advanced Jumbo acoustic guitar is often described as the perfect instrument for the soloist or singer/songwriter with a sound that blends well with vocals. And, its generous and elegant Venetian cutaway enables you to access the upper frets with ease. Brilliant value for money. Tried a number of guitars in this price range and this one sounded the best. Good electronics, great acoustic sound, and looks terrific. My daughter has been really pleased with it. The stands for Advanced Jumbo, which is the naming Epiphone uses. It is the same size and design as a dreadnought and, in the case of 220SCE, also features a single cutaway. What’s the Difference Between Acoustic and Electro-Acoustic Guitar? The great thing about Sitka Spruce is that it actually plays better over time, so the more you play it, the sweeter it sounds! The bell-like tone of the AJ acoustic is achieved thanks to a larger lower bout and smaller, rounded upper bout, which improves focus and projection. A stylish venetian cutaway makes way for super fast upper fret access. One of the most affordable electro acoustics in the Epiphone line-up. Features high quality electronics and ergonomic single cutaway body.

The AJ-220SCE comes with Epiphone's Lifetime Limited Warranty featuring Gibson 24/7/365 Customer Service that guarantees the guitar against defects in materials or workmanship. Now that's performance and VALUE! Specifications The sound is even more pleasing when plugged into a decent acoustic amp. The tone is balanced, neither too bright nor too muddy, but it has a nice punch. You can use the EQ settings on the guitar to shape the tone further to your liking. It’s also very versatile, and you can easily do rhythm, fingerstyle, slap-and-pop, etc. When you turn the bass up, the chords sound full and punch, while fingerstyle sounds better with more treble. The guitar has an inherent punch or bass to the tone, which makes it sound very premium. The Epiphone AJ-220SCEmight just be one of the best value in the electro-acoustic guitars in the industry today. The AJ-220SCE carries on Epiphone's tradition of unequalled quality and performancefor far less than me anticipate. I was fortunate enough to get one of the last remaining Mahogany Burst models and the "look" is one of the nicest I've seen at any price point. The dark brown body finish reveals just enough of the wood grain to please. It flows well to the top blending into a more transparent finish that shows off the top grain very nicely. The fit and finish are flawless. It's a shame Epiphone is no longer offering it in this very beautiful unique finish. The Epiphone J-45 EC (previously AJ-220SCE) Electro Acoustic is a reliable and affordable instrument with a versatile and expressive sound. It features a combination of solid sitka spruce top and select mahogany for the body, which delivers a powerful yet focused sound with excellent balance and warmth. Its unique ''advanced jumbo'' body shape offers excellent projection and volume, while its ergonomic cutaway provides easy access to the upper frets for a comfortable playing experience.

So this guitar sounds great now, but you may have to do a few things. The high E string was buzzing on the 7th fret and had no sound the 12th. I did the following:For customers in outlying areas of the country, the price of the Extended Warranty may be marginally higher, due to the potential for higher collection and redelivery transport costs. You can pretty much tell the quality of an acoustic guitar by the craftsmanship and attention to detail given to the fretboard. Unsurprisingly, the bound fretboard is of similar or higher quality than the rest of the 220SCE. The fretwork is flawless, with perfect fret assembly and not even a single sharp end.
