Users complained that the original Ender 3 had issues with the build plate wobbling during printing, making the bed unstable and compromising the parts. To test the Ender 3’s print quality at higher speeds, we printed these two little sink drains at two different speeds. With such nuanced similarities and differences between each Ender 3 model, it can be difficult to deduce which is the best Ender 3 printer for you. The most common method to determine the distance between the nozzle and the bed is using a piece of paper or thin card between the nozzle. This really depends on your nozzle diameter and layer height, but generally, your printer’s nozzle should be around 0.2mm away from your print bed, while your bed leveling screws are fairly tightened.M120 enables endstop detection, and some slicers don’t actually enable this before a print starts. If your printer doesn’t detect the endstop, that’s where you can run into your nozzle hitting your print bed. You definitely want this to be detected before starting a print or doing auto-home. How Far Should The Nozzle Be From The Bed? To work the display, you have to rotate the knob, which takes you through the different options. To select an option, you push on the knob, which makes a rather loud popping sound. If your extruder is too low, you’ll have to take your extruder apart, then reseat it properly. The case here is that the extruder might not be securely fitted inside how it should be. I would search a video tutorial on your specific 3D printer and follow how the extruder was put in. You’ve leveled out your 3D printer correctly and done the normal process of 3D printing, but for some reason your nozzle is hitting or dragging into your prints or scraping and digging into your bed surface. Even worse when it’s a print lasting several hours. A lot of people get this wrong and wonder why their firmware seems to build for the wrong printer and why they don't see the right environments showing up.

Creality includes its own 3D printing software, Creality Slicer, on an SD card that is included with the printer. It is very similar to the Cura open-source software that is widely used in 3D printing. I used both Creality Slicer and Cura in preparing files for printing on the Ender-3 V2, and I found both easy to use. The Ender-3 V2 is not included in Cura's pull-down menu of supported printers, but it worked fine when I chose a different Creality model, the Ender-3 Pro. Therefore, if you want the highest level of definition in your prints, try printing at the minimum layer height. The Ender-3 V2 Neo has a minimum layer height of 0.1 mm with the default being 0.2 mm, same as the original Ender range. First released in March 2018, the base Ender 3 model is by no means a weak entry. In fact, in terms of value for money, it may just be one of the best 3D printers on the market today. In testing, I printed 10 sample objects, all at the standard 200-micron resolution. Overall print quality was slightly above average. For the most part, the Ender-3 V2 did well in rendering detail, though it had some problems on the bottom side of overhangs. There were a few misprints; except in one case, they occurred at the very beginning of prints, with the first layers not adhering well and the object soon pulling off the print bed. This was corrected by re-leveling the print bed. The user interface has also been updated, with a new detachable color screen which makes controlling the device much easier and clearer.
