The flexible connection options and attractive design make it a great choice. Whether it’s your studio, workspace, or living room they perform well. While not the most accurate of monitors they are a solid entry point for new producers. The 1850db is quite comparable to the 1700BT in terms of sound quality. In addition, it delivers incredible performance with minimal power wastages. So now I have a subwoofer that's doing it's job and a pair of mid/high speakers not working so hard to reproduce sub frequencies--the whole point and goal. Located at the rear of the primary unit you’ll find both Treble and Bass control. These work as intended and allow for fine-tuning. A handy feature especially if you want to use these for mixing due to the slightly unbalanced default setting. From my perspective, the highs roll off a bit, but in a nice way. I'd say it's my old ears, but I don't get that sense from other systems, such as the Harmon Kardon system in my BMW. ETA: I've decided my main gripe about high end is wrong. It's an artifact of speaker placement and my position in the listening space most of the time. If I sit in the near field of the speakers, the highs sound great. Anywayz, I turned down the Bass control on the Edifiers and turned up the Polk's volume, while adjusting the frequency point on the Polk until I was happy with the crossover.
Distorts after 80 % volume but only if Bass is set to full. Which is something its not meant to deliver as its meant to have natural audio. This remote has a few more features and can adjust volume, mute, switch inputs, and control Bluetooth. This speaker is a pure hifi speaker for music / movies / gaming etc . However due to the Angled / Tilted upwards cabinet it is better suited for computer audio as your ears should be around 12 - 15 inches above the speaker to get the best sound quality. Many studio monitors at this price point don’t offer much in terms of tuning options, yet controls are crucial in a speaker setup. Edifier R1700BT In my testing it is better suited for Nearfield 2 - 4 foot away from speakers to get the most detail and any further causes the sound stage to collapse.Having said that, it still delivers great quality audio and features like DSP and DRC noise reduction.
