About this deal

Drive: a 70-minute conversation with Nicolas Winding Refn, Editor Mat Newman and Composer Cliff Martinez That isn’t to say the film is without fault, of course. This is a 1997 production, complete with the kind of cheap sets and explosions you’d expect from the era, but the precision and weight of the action set it apart whenever you think artifice will fully take over. A drab motel room turns into a fully realized fighting area in one sequence, showing you the possibilities within that limited space. There are even a couple of fun and dated green screen shots where the villains look like they’re being devoured by the bad effects behind them. Seeing those in 4K was a distinct pleasure that I’m sure other people will enjoy. particular is a whirlwind of activity both horizontally and vertically in scenes like the opening action sequence on the boat. All of the driving material I don't believe this is true. I downgraded a BU11 drive to BU10 using the ASUS_ODD_FW_Changer method. I haven't tried cross-flashing other BU40N FWs. But, I definitely didn't have to remove the drive from the case. I just plugged it in and flashed it. Easy peasy.

The Alexa was reportedly selected due to the fact it was capable of shooting high ISO exposure without too much resultant noise, which was a concern particular in the opening sequences that were shot at night. Although technically Drive would be defined as an upscale, you would likely find it largely impossible to tell, with the new 4K master pulling some superb detail out of the image, both in close-ups and wider shots. That, coupled with the stunning cinematography from DOP Newton Thomas Sigel, leaves the visuals too sublime in both composition and rendering to really attempt to fault. I just tried one of each of these sata-usb adapters and neither worked for flashing, which was strange because it was (visually) the one Marty said he had, but the part number IS different. LG BH16NS55, UHD Friendly Internal 5.25 sata | Rip speed 8x BD 66 ~45 mins BD 100 ~1 hour if flashed properly other wise 6x rip speed and slower then BU40N On a personal note, I love David Lynch’s work, but I’m in love with Mulholland Drive. It’s one of those films that grabs hold and never lets go once it has its claws in you. The Criterion Collection’s Ultra HD upgrade of the film is remarkable. The picture quality of their Blu-ray release was top of the line, but the 4K UHD is nearly definitive. Highly recommended.

Drive! all the way from the UK. This is the first Second Sight Films transfer I've seen, so let's see how many enemies I can make:) I'm a big fan of this movie and absolutely love the style. Let's see how it looks on 4K.

The Dolby Vision HDR color grading is very good, much better than SDR, but it's still not perfect. There are minor bit-depth errors. This is a source-based error, it's not from the disc's encoding. So, movies from the early 2000s to around 2020 have really been handcuffed by technology. Mostly, digital cameras were used, and early color grading was inadequate. It is what it is, and we're only just coming out of it now, so it's been a struggle. Unfortunately, digital cameras have had poor color depth for some time. High-budget movies in late 2021 have just started to overcome it. But even releases like Dune had bit-depth errors, so we're still not out of this digital handcuff yet. Regardless, I think this movie has been graded about as well as possible for the time. I noticed some increased blues (very minor) and increased brightness. This is stylized in this way; it gives the movie a filmic look and an almost '70s look which I really like. I love the way it looks. I think color fading around faces did show some minor depth errors, and the way light fades on walls looked a pinch-off. Just for reference, I'm using a Panasonic UB9000 and a professionally calibrated 77-inch LGC9 with Dolby Vision. Buffalo BRUHD-PU3-BK, UHD Official, External Slim 9.5mm USB 3.0 LG BU40N inside| Rip speed 6x BD 66 ~45 mins BD 100 ~1 hour 5mins The disc presents a 3840x2160/24p BT.2020 image in the film's theatrical aspect ratio of widescreen 2.39:1, and uses a Wide Colour Gamut (WCG), High Dynamic Range and is encoded using the HEVC (H.265) codec.

This is by and large a very winning looking presentation, though once again I'm not completely sure the increased resolution is a consistent "friend" to as some of the admittedly minor but noticeable damage that I mentioned in my original review are still in evidence here, and with regard to densities, you may use these commands to override the auto detect if it does not recognize your drive. for now only the -t mtk19xx should be used. Audio commentary with director Steve Wang, fight choreographer Koichi Sakamoto and stars Mark Dacascos and Kadeem Harrison There's no nasty edge enhancement either. I've seen some movies sharpened way too much because the source resolution was from a 2K. Thankfully this wasn't done, so I commend the encoders for this.BP50NB40, UHD Officialish External Slim 9.5mm USB 2.0 | Rip speed 6x BD 66 ~45 mins BD 100 ~1 hour 5mins Flashed an NS50 firmware to an NS40 drive and can no longer read disks this IMG has all the NS40 FW you need to recover your drive just follow my dos flash video guide linked above All of the supplements from the MVD Rewind Collection are intact here, though as seems to be the case recently, their timings can vary by a second
