In hindsight, Wolfenstein 3D seems like a glorified proof of concept (though a very ambitious one for its time), but consumer technology needed to catch up for the iD boys to realise their vision, and boy, did they blow it out of the water when they made DOOM.

Skeletor1979 : It took some time for me to get used to the controls (and I initially hated them too). I was initially pretty incensed when I couldn't use the D-pad to move around. I like how friendly the demons appear in the Doom boxart. Just look at those big ol' goofy grins. Those guys aren't trying to kill you, they just want to hangout and have a good time. Great, Limited Run, it's as if it wasn't released physically officialy. I hope Bethesda announces Doom Eternal for retail after the DLCs' release. I really hate limited distributors getting the right to release huge games as they only benefit the scalpers and some few rabid collectors DOOM Eternal launches on November 22, 2019 for the PC, PlayStation 4, Stadia, Switch, and Xbox One. Ive never been interested in LRG but this one has me interested. Id only go with the standard one as the wife has banned me from having all my stuff on show. I feel like i should ban her from, say.. The house!
