In Divine Rivals, we see how Roman and Iris begin to write to each other without knowing who the other person is. The Undertaking of Hart and Mercy follows a similar premise. Iris nodded and hurried on her way. She was ridiculous for even thinking he’d want to share dinner with her. Roman’s haughty voice broke the spell. Iris had startled, crumpling the paper in her hands. But he knew exactly what she had been reading, and he was smug about it. Yes. Fans of young adult fantasy romance, academic rivals to lovers, or enemies to loverswill enjoy Divine Rivals. Does Divine Rivals Have a Happy Ending?

I’d like to try this book and see if I like it as much as it seems *everyone* else does. I’ve read 3 books (2 from one series and 1 from another) by this author now and have yet to be like completely obsessed. But I really want to love her work. I have nothing I necessarily *dislike* about it, I just haven’t been like “omg new favorite!” Haha! I hope this is the one to do that for me! Iris knew what came next. She had been working at the diner, washing dishes with muted, broken dreams. She hadn’t once thought the essay she submitted to the Gazette’s annual competition would amount to anything, until she returned home to find a letter from Zeb with her name on it. It was an offer to work at the paper, with the tantalizing promise of columnist if she continued to prove herself exceptional. But I realize that people are just people, and they carry their own set of fears, dreams, desires, pains, and mistakes. I can’t expect someone else to make me feel complete; I must find it on my own. And I think I was always writing for myself, to sort through my loss and worry and tangled ambitions. Even now, I think about how effortless it is to lose oneself in words, and yet also find who you are.” All Talasyn has ever known are the Hurricane Wars. An orphan of the struggle, she uses the power of light to fight for her people against the Night Empire. You can guess where this is going, right? Hehe, I won’t say anything more in case you want to dive into the book without spoilers. But just FYI, this is one of the sweetest fantasy romances I’ve read.

Ross has crafted a tale that hooks its readers with whip-smart intrigue, and holds them fast with dazzling prose, a charming cast, and a world where mystique shimmers just beneath the surface. Hers is a brilliant blend of whimsy and heart.” —Ayana Gray, New York Times bestselling author of Beasts of Prey But when Iris’s letters to her brother fall into the wrong hands – that of the handsome but cold Roman Kitt, her rival at the paper – an unlikely magical connection forms. But the words felt frozen inside of her. She decided to walk to the sideboard to pour herself a fresh cup of tea when she saw Roman Conceited Kitt walk into the office. Cambridge professor Emily Wilde is good at many things: at people. She could never make small talk at a party—or even get invited to one. And she prefers the company of her books, her dog, Shadow, and the Fair Folk to other people.

Little does he know that the cheeky immortal mailman is going to deliver Hart’s first letter to Mercy (who is feeling lonely as well). From this point on, an unexpected friendship begins to blossom. Families can talk about love during wartime -- and why it's such a popular storytelling theme. How do you think Divine Rivals compares with other wartime romances? Partly satiated with her newfound knowledge, Iris had decided the best course of action was to ignore her competition. She could pretend he didn’t exist most of the time. But she soon discovered that would be increasingly difficult as they had to race each other to the bulletin board for weekly assignments. I had high hopes for Divine Rivals, as it was one of my most anticipated books of 2023, and I was not disappointed.Cassie Greenberg loves being an artist, but it’s a tough way to make a living. On the brink of eviction, she’s desperate when she finds a too-good-to-be-true apartment in a beautiful Chicago neighborhood. The main characters in Divine Rivals are eighteen-year-old Iris Winnow and her rival at the Oath Gazette, Roman Kitt. Does Divine Rivals Have Romance? All eighteen-year-old Iris Winnow wants to do is hold her family together. With a brother on the frontline forced

Divine Rivals (Letters of Enchantment, Book 1)

But time will slowly heal you, as it is doing for me. There are good days and there are difficult days. Your grief will never fully fade; it will always be with you--a shadow you carry in your soul--but it will become fainter as your life becomes brighter. You will learn to live outside of it again, as impossible as that may sound. Others who share your pain will also help you heal. Because you are not alone. Not in your fear or your grief or your hopes or your dreams. You are not alone.” This trilogy is excellent. It not only features an incredible slow-burn forbidden romance but also blends political intrigues, the chaos of wartime and high-stakes.She hadn’t expected to ever be friends with him. How could she, when they were both competing for the same columnist position? But his pompous demeanor had only sharpened her desire to defeat him. And it had also been alarming that Roman Kitt knew more about her than she knew of him.
