Colloidal silver is a liquid suspension of tiny, almost microscopic particles of silver. Typically suspended in water, the silver particles are so small that they are actually considered nanoparticles and can’t be seen with the naked eye. Referring to it as silver may be confusing, as the substance itself isn’t silver in color at all. Colloidal silver is usually yellow or a deep golden color. Colloidal silver for dogs has also been proclaimed to be able to fend off skin allergies and excessive itchiness. More often than not, this treatment often comes in the form of colloidal silver spray for dogs. It is advertised that if you simply spray it on your dog, they will cease itching and their dry skin will improve. However, there is no scientific evidence that this is true, nor do vets routinely use colloidal silver for dog skin allergies. It’s an especially bad idea to give your dog colloidal silver internally. There’s a high risk of gut dysbiosis, organ damage and developmental problems. Maybe it’s slightly better than antibiotics … but it’s still not safe for your dog.

You should use colloidal silver on its own with no other medications. This is because colloidal silver can interfere with medication’s ability to work.
