About this deal

Digesta biological drain cleaner is 100% eco-friendly drain cleaner. It won’t kill the good bacteria required by septic tanks, yet WILL help to eliminate fat build-ups in drains connected to public sewer systems too. Chances are, you will likely have been informed over the years that, in all its shapes and forms, bacteria make for bad news. It’s true to an extent – bacteria can breed illness, and as a result, it’s always a good idea to maintain good hygiene. However, when it comes to bacteria in septic tank systems, you are going to need to keep them on your side. Your septic tank it’s the only piece of the puzzle you should be looking after. Your soakaway is just as important, as it helps to slowly, and safely, get rid of wastewater and liquid into the ground.

First of all, the nearby earth should be pre-inspected before digging and installing your soakaway. In particular, soil with high clay saturation is never suitable. I would determine where the pipe exits and work uphill from there. A stream of water may dislodge the plug, or you can use a drain snake with a corkscrew end to pull out debris. Working from the bottom should result in easier movement of debris. All septic tank soakaway drainage fields must be constructed in the AEROBIC soil layer. This is soil which has oxygen in the air spaces between the particles and only occurs within the top metre of the soil. Soakaways are generally simple, easy-to-install systems. But nothing in life is ever perfect, and problems can of course still occur. Our drainage engineers are all highly trained and dedicated to their profession and are completely qualified to clear the mud from your outside drain. Our methods in more detail

Soakaways are both cleverly designed, yet deceptively simple drainage systems. Even if your soakaway was correctly installed, there are still a few culprits that can impede its effectiveness – particularly when using a plastic soakaway crate. The simple answer is No! Digesta biological waste trap and drain cleaner digests the FOG that surrounds hair strands and ‘fluff’. This enables hair strands and ‘fluff’ to flow more freely through the drainage pipes and into your septic tank or mains sewer.

While that liquid may not hold excessive amounts of organic waste, what it will do is literally stir up the waste in the tank and in all probability mix sludge and scum into the clear water middle layer and then overflow through the system into the drain field and soakaway. NOTE – Hot water will destroy the microbes in Digesta – if hot water recently drained, flush 1-2 litres of cold water, prior to treatment. You might use chemicals and cleaners that are killing off your bacteria. While it’s unavoidable to keep your toilet clean to some extent, you need to be extra careful about what you flush. More on this shortly.Connect up a hose pipe to feed water from a mains tap into the drain and let the end of it rest on the sludge. Then get come old cloths and fully soak them in water and cram them into the drain so that it is full of cloth up to the top. Stand on the cloths to make the best airtight seal you can above the level of the sludge. Though it may be unpleasant to think about, large clumps of organic waste matter can (and do) leak out of poorly maintained septic tanks and find their way into a neighbouring soakaway. A soakaway is used where you don’t have traditional drainage systems and is most commonly seen with installations like septic tanks and for buildings and surrounding areas that require rainwater management. The key is that this system can take water and waste and disperse it into the surrounding soil without causing water logging or pollution. It often does this through a series of simple, perforated pipes. If the entire household is taking baths and showers over a short period, and the washing machine and dishwasher are running at the same time the tank is receiving a significant amount of liquid. While we may love roses bushes to look at outside our garden window, plant life is always on the lookout for convenient water sources from which to drink. Their roots often grow in the direction of the nearest possible access point.
