The Braun 5018s is the initial model of the Braun Series 5 EasyClean (new) version. The shaver comes with a rinsing-friendly shaving head that allows cleaning it with direct running water without removing the foil chamber. It features 3 flexible shaving elements that treat softly with the facial skin while shaving to ensure maximum shaving comfort. If you can still find the 5090cc, that’s the one I would recommend. The M90 is one of the better travel shavers, but you might want to use it more often as it can struggle with longer hairs. It’s a very basic single foil shaver. I am currently using a Philips HQ 6927/16 rotary shaver. It shaves well hair that grows on moles. Will I also shaves them with the foil shaver without any problems and without irritate moles? I then switched to a Panasonic ES8103S which I’ve had for several years. I didn’t much like how it looked or felt in my hand but it shaves well, much better than the old Brauns and just seems very dependable. Very good ergonomics and the slimline design with hand grips make the Series 5 very comfortable. The most fragile part of this shaver and all other electric shavers seems to be the head section with the cutters; otherwise, the whole unit feels solid. The shavers in the new Series 5² like the 5190cc or 5195cc use the same cleaning station as the 5090cc with the 3 cleaning modes. Because of this limitation and the fact that pretty much all Braun shavers are fiddly to clean manually, the Series 5 is probably not the best option if you plan on shaving with cream or gel.Just like with the Series 7 and Series 9, there are many variations of the Series 5 available and Braun doesn’t exactly make it easy for us to spot the differences.
