John Weaver as Carl Slater (series 3; guest series 1–2, 5): A police officer, and later Detective Inspector, who has been Vinnie's arch-enemy since their childhood and is obsessed with exposing his criminal activities. Anthony Welsh as Jake (series 1–2): A classmate of Erin's at college, he shows an interest in her, despite her ongoing relationship and son. After initially getting close to Erin he later starts a relationship with her after she splits with Dylan. However, this ends after his brother Aaron makes sexual advances toward her and subsequently assaults her.
