About this deal

The benefits of moving have been long talked about along with the benefits of it on your physical and mental health. Here's my story of how movement helped to bring positivity to my life.

People often ask me - 'Why do Judo when you're the only amputee?' or 'Surely it's really unfair that you fight against two-legged people......why do you even bother?' Here's are some of the reasons for me to just be part of an amazing sport, despite a huge disadvantage:Feeling the breeze in my hair, seeing the world from a foot taller and the ability to conquer the previously unconquerable – all experiences I felt when I started running after 14 years in a wheelchair. Get your reading glasses on as I tell you the story of how I lost my leg and started the battle to begin to win the long run. It also increases jump height to 8m and jump length to 40m (on the first slide jump) respectively 48m (on subsequent slide jumps). Now if you try and imagine running on a trail, without being able to bend your ankle or twist your foot - that’s what running with a blade is like on uneven terrain. With my blade, because of the heel, I am actually okay with uneven terrain but I know lots of amputee runners don’t have the same luxury.

Blade Runners • Medicinal Inhaler • Nobelisk Detonator ( Nobelisk, Gas Nobelisk, Pulse Nobelisk, Cluster Nobelisk, Nuke Nobelisk) • Parachute • Rebar Gun ( Iron Rebar, Stun Rebar, Shatter Rebar, Explosive Rebar) • Rifle ( Ammo, Homing Ammo, Turbo Ammo) • Zipline Because kids often come in and grow out of their prosthetics, they offer continual support and assistance as they get older or need maintenance. I’m not an amputee, but I’m constantly in awe of what people can do,” Southard said. “That’s why we want to do anything we can to help people be the best that they can be and help them get to where they never thought they could be.” In the world of the media portraying the perfect body, 6-minute miles and chiselled, mid-20s torsos, what does it really mean to be a runner? The label ‘runner’ really is real-identifying so how do you get feel like a runner when in your head, you may be thinking that you’re too slow, too big or too old?For many able-bodied athletes, qualification to the European and World Obstacle Course Racing Championships can be extremely difficult. In some races, an individual needs to be placed in the top 5 within their age group to qualify and this can take an athlete several attempts to achieve. Now imagine being an amputee, a visually impaired runner or a wheelchair athlete and having to still achieve a top-5 result against able-bodied individuals. I use this as my walking foot. You could also use this as a running foot if you wanted to. I use this foot to power hike, which is part of my training for ultramarathons. was my year of experimentation. A year, my first full year of walking, to see where I wanted to take my life and career. With incredible opportunities taken and awesome teams joined, the 2018 season is almost at its end. So with that in mind, where do I see my plans heading for 2019? The type of blade that you use will depend on a number of factors: How tall you are (or how much space you have to fit in a running blade), your activities, your intentions and unfortunately, how much money you have/the support you can receive. Running blades really aren’t cheap and don’t tend to be covered under the NHS but there is loads of support out there with charities and organisations.
