That would definitely be correct. Although Ponds had an unfortunate end at the hands of Baby Boba in Clone Wars. I was actually focusing on the naming convention for the 187 Commander, and why he might have been called Thunder, but I appreciate the reply nonetheless! What you really want to know from this review is whether the rest of 75342 Republic Fighter Tank is worth a slice of your LEGO budget, and the answer is satisfying straightforward: yes, almost certainly. It’s not the biggest Republic Fighter Tank, nor the prettiest, but it bests both its predecessors in at least one department, and for that it shouldn’t be overlooked – at least if only to see how the LEGO Group has managed to come up with a third completely different way to build this vehicle. Regardless, I have no issue with LEGO producing Legends sets or minifigures. I am disappointed, not by how bad this set might look on first glance, but by the people who are complaining about everything, even the minifigure selection, which might I add is superb in my opinion for 2022. Putting in 4 actual minifigures alongside 2 battle droids? LEGO could've took the cheap way out and have a similar selection as the 2017 tank: Mace Windu, one 187th trooper and 2 battle droids. Honestly the whining about the figures in the review and ending up calling the set 'confusing' and 'muddled' without really showing that, are detracting. You wanted different figures, we get it, leave it alone. Confusing is the word to summarise 75342 Republic Fighter Tank. The minifigure selection is superb, particularly for the exclusive Mace Windu and his colourful Clone Troopers. Selecting these non-canonical Clone Troopers, among numerous potentially more prominent options, is surprising though. Even so, I do love the purple!

Overall this tank is probably the best scaled of the three Lego versions and looks better than the last tiny release. The figures are awesome. Can't wait to display this supporting my 501st Legion set in battle. Did we need another one of these video game curios? Hard to say. Maybe 75342 Republic Fighter Tank is the epitome of something we never knew we needed, right down to its bizarre (but just a little bit glorious) purple Clone Troopers. Nobody asked for those – nobody could have, surely, given they’re about as obscure as Star Wars lore gets –but you already know you need to get them somehow. I suppose it's always possible to speculate (or even criticize) about 'better' alternatives for almost any Lego set. Yet, these are really nice, colorful troopers which surely no one could admittedly believe would appear in any other set. On that basis, I think objective criticism is nearly close to impossible. It all becomes very subjective. There's almost no objectively rational basis to dislike these purple dudes in favor of a speculative alternative in the vast Star Wars universe.Thanks for another great review. However, I cannot agree with the good Captain regarding the type of troopers in this set. Next is Chapter 12-13, where Mace is unchanged, but his many troops start out wearing basic white, and are completely red by the end of the battle. I don’t think any of them ever got to wear unit markings. FYI: the new Star Wars LEGO game is awesome. Go play it. Some stuff in there I need as LEGO product NOW. :D I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
