One of the mic/line channel strips from the ZED10 FX, which includes three‑band EQ plus Aux and FX sends. The six aux buses and the main sum also have compressors and fully parametric four-band equalizers. These are transformed into graphical 31 bands at the push of a button. It is not possible to delay channels and buses. This is perhaps a little too much to ask for a “musician's desk”, but it would definitely be nice to have. However, the Gear4music extended warranty scheme provides an enhanced service, and is designed to offer a higher level of protection than many 'free' warranties offered by some retailers and manufacturers. ZEDi-10FX boasts a brand new suite of studio quality reverbs and delays, painstakingly crafted to enhance your recordings and performances. Special multi-model effects provide uniquely dynamic combinations of reverbs and delays. Allen & Heath's marketing blurb suggests that the ZED series is 'perfect' for live mixing, and while that might be hyperbole, it would certainly serve well in that capacity, where most of the effects and the tap tempo would certainly come in handy. The level knobs are inevitably more fiddly than faders, though, and I know which I'd prefer to have on a dimly lit stage! However, I think that the primary market for this mixer should be the home studio, and anyone looking to make decent‑quality band demo recordings.
ZEDi-10FX features an exceptional new preamp design, created by analogue guru, Mike Griffin and developed from his highly acclaimed GS-R24 studio recording console. Conclusively, with the ZEDi-10FX, Allen & Heath offers a small mixer in proven quality. The 4 × 4 audio interface, the very good microphone preamps, and the good sounding effects processor are the highlights of the equipment. The only remaining channel controls concern the Aux and FX channels. The aux channel, as you'd expect, has a knob to control the level, but no more than that. The FX channel includes both a level knob and, usefully, a tap‑tempo button, as well as up/down buttons used to select the required effect. If Allen & Heath fails, at any time during the term of this EULA to insist upon strict performance of any of your obligations under this EULA, or if it fails to exercise any of the rights or remedies to which it is entitled under this EULA, this shall not constitute a waiver of such rights or remedies and shall not relieve You from compliance with such obligations. With a mac however, the ZEDi runs as a class compliant device and so you would use routing in whatever application you are running to select the channels you want to use. The monitor system on the ZEDi-10FX is also pretty darn easy to use — it gives you a ton of control over the monitors, and while some might need more monitor outputs to have individual control, The rear panel of the ZED10 FX hosts the IEC mains power inlet, as well as a recessed switch to alter the output level. While the stereo channels offer no other options apart from a single volume control (rotary potentiometer), the mono channel strips are more extensively equipped. Any replacement Software will be warranted for the remainder of the original warranty period or thirty (30) days, whichever is longer, and Allen & Heath will use reasonable efforts to provide your remedy within a reasonable time of your compliance with Allen & Heath’s warranty remedy procedures.The EQ certainly don’t give you as much control as you might want, but they sound pretty good nonetheless. There’s no denying that in studio situations you may want to rely more on plugins for your EQ needs, as you’ll be able to get much more surgical. In live situations, however, the ZEDi-10FX is more than capable — sure, you don’t get to set the Q, but the Q the console sets for itself is very musical. Without prejudice to any other rights, Allen & Heath may terminate this EULA if You fail to comply with any of the terms of this EULA. In such an event, all rights granted to You under this EULA shall cease, You must cease all activities authorised by this EULA and You must destroy all copies of the Software and all of its component parts within your control. A special feature of the UX version of the MG mixer is its USB interface. This offers two additional inputs and outputs in 24-bit, 192 kHz quality.
