The more 'right' you move so the more unary, the more 'field' precise, integrating perspective where differentiations are IMPLIED, we make relationships that IMPLY 'something' - gets into geometric perspectives, use of card spreads, astrology charts, rune stone patterns etc to derive meaning, the right is the realm of innuendo, pattern matching, and identification through what something is NOT. (the more left you go so the more algebraic the perspective, gets into the dimensionless (the dot)) You can see here the improvement in perception that comes with being able to flesh-out details and this is reflected in how the eye works where in the brain the 'left' perception is more 'fovea-like', precise, and the 'right' perception more 'parafovea-like', approximate. Shen, S. and Zhang, X. “Distributional Tests for Regression Discontinuity: Theory and Empirical Examples”, Review of Economics & Statistics (2016) The primary meaning of shen is translatable in English as god, gods, God; deity, deities, spirit, spiritual, spiritlike, [1] spirits, Spirit, spiritual beings; celestial spirits; ancestral spirits, supernatural beings, etc. Shen is sometimes loosely translated as "soul", but Chinese hun and po distinguishes hun 魂 "spiritual soul" and po 魄 "physical soul". Shen can be used as a loanword. The Oxford English Dictionary (2nd ed.) defines shen in these terms, "In Chinese philosophy: a god, person of supernatural power, or the spirit of a dead person." Shen can also refer to a living, "'spiritual' or 'spiritlike'" person or people when they accomplish things perceived to be superhuman, such as saving "people through the power of Virtue." [1] In my translation I avoided the - in my eyes - fanciful but improbable ideas of the German one, and rather chose the more obvious translations of characters. I did add names to the verses, the original has none.

Xu Z, Yau KKC, Stephenson FR (1989) Astronomical records on the Shang dynasty oracle bones. Archaeoastronomy 14 (Supplement to the Journal for the History for Astronomy 20):S61–S72 From a research perspective, it is the oscillation across these differences that allow us to derive a clearer perspective on the I Ching as a whole and so of its reflection of a univeral form, it being a product of our species-nature overall and so not something uniquely Chinese ;-) I Ching with Clarity podcast – Interpretations of real readings, accessible to beginners and also nourishing for experienced diviners. The I Ching reflects these patterns and all else follows, and that includes differences in language styles and so LOCAL thought patterns ;-)Shen plays a central role in Christian translational disputes over Chinese terms for God. Among the early Chinese "god; God" names, shangdi 上帝 or di was the Shang term, tian 天 was the Zhou term, and shen was a later usage (see Feng Yu-Lan. [7] Modern terms for "God" include shangdi, zhu 主, tianzhu 天主 (esp. Catholics), and shen 神 (esp. Protestants).

Overall the 10BC perspective is LOCAL, specialised, and can be extremely interesting etc but it is 'short' on learning about the source of the IC in toto in that that source is in fact in the manner in which our brains categorise, our methodology in making distinctions and giving those distinctions complex values and as such is GENERAL in form. When deciding on what kind of beads you should get, one method is to use your astrological animal sign. The table below suggests beads that are auspicious for you based on your sign. RAT & BOAR Note that any collective of individuals, if not taught a language will create their own 'instinctively', a creole-like language, to communicate - each generation does this now to some degree where they add words of their generation to the general language they are taught - the words are 'different' but what they relate to, what they *mean* as feelings is always the same, wholes are wholes, nouns are nouns ;-))Connecting hexagrams – About relationships between hexagrams: the Sequence, trigram patterns, nuclears… Line 5 speaks to the empath in me, that streaming tears as if mourning might be her situation at home and this is why she behaves this way, or is it saying that she wants to cause others to cry, that to her it would be 'good fortune'... The *particular* oracle is a specialisation, rooted in the local properties and methods of the culture BUT ALL specialisations have their roots in the generalisation that is the manner in which all species-members derive meaning.

Chinese shen 申 "extend" was anciently a phonetic loan character for shen 神 "spirit". The Mawangdui Silk Texts include two copies of the Dao De Jing and the "A Text" writes shen interchangeably as 申 and 神: "If one oversees all under heaven in accord with the Way, demons have no spirit. It is not that the demons have no spirit, but that their spirits do not harm people." (chap. 60). [8] The Shuowen Jiezi defines shen 申 as shen 神 and says that in the 7th lunar month when yin forces increase, bodies shenshu 申束 "bind up". For almost 2 years of dealing with this, I was in an honest mindset of trying to understand and learn what I could do differently. I truly believed her requests to do things that were not work related, and things that would have serious consequences at work, as pure potential, without negative intent. I very much accepted her requests as innocent, but I never understood how politely refusing to fudge numbers by lightheartedly commenting how glad I was that we have such a great boss who can take care of those types of things, a boss who knows what to do about things like that, was met with such frustration and resentment in her. And when she would suggest going thru someone else's things, or rearranging our very particular coworkers desk, and I would just say, can you imagine if he came in and the stapler was on the right instead of at center, like I was giving her the benefit of the doubt by assuming she was being funny instead of actually suggesting we did something like that....even though my making light of it was met with more and more pressure from her to actually do it. It was only 2 days ago that I even entertained a malicious intent. In IDM I identify two functions, the Transcendence function and the Transformation function that reflect properties of the neurology. The former is 'yang' oriented, high energy expenditure, revolutionary in focus, fundamentalist, 'born again'. etc. The transformation function is more 'yin' oriented, conserving of energy, evolutionary in focus (learns habits/instincts), relativist, more focused on integrating with the context as compared to escaping the context or asserting a context, as the transcendence function will do. I tried to find a correlation with the YiJing (I Ching). The first two verses of the ShenShu start with the first two hexagrams of the Yijing, Heaven and Earth ( Harmen, thanks for finding this.) Someone added a hexagram line to each verse, but the correlation bewteen the two seems very meagre. Looking at the trigrams, they are both Light / Flame, with the lower (perhaps representing you) moving to Mountain, and the upper (representing her and/or your actions in the world) moving to Heaven.OM, the magnificent Manjushri who unobstructedly sees all the three times, the past, present and future with eyes of transcendental wisdom. Please come here and hear me. I prostrate to Manjushri and take refuge in the three jewels. Yup...it was meant to be sweeping. I was discussing my experience, not all that I've learned...and trying to be succinct.

Abrevaya, J. and Shen, S. "Estimation of Censored Panel-data Models with Slope Heterogeneity", Journal of Applied Econometrics (2014)The Chinese shen 神 "spirit; etc." is also present in other East Asian languages. The Japanese Kanji 神 is pronounced shin ( しん) or jin ( じん) in On'yomi (Chinese reading), and kami ( かみ), kō ( こう), or tamashii ( たましい) in Kun'yomi (Japanese reading). The Korean Hanja 神 is pronounced sin ( 신). In truth I believe that it is us that make ALL the answers, but I think that when they come from the deepest layers of our sub(supra?)conscious, they are reliable and enlightening; when they come mostly from the conscious, they are just what we want to see, a call for self-ilusion. If we cast compulsively, we enter the conscious mode, and it just tells us what we want to hear; but if we let the questions come from calmness, openness and respect, then the answers will be like that too. Pankenier DW (2011) Getting ‘right’ with heaven and the origins of writing in China. In: Li F, Branner DP (eds) Writing and literacy in early China. University of Washington, Seattle, pp 13–48 As a species we have developed from the right, from the more unary, the more holistic, to the left that is more binary, more parts oriented and yet the binary is also the source of emergence and so of the ability to express personal consciousness.
