About this deal

Aloe Vera: Aloe vera soothes and calms the skin, providing hydration and alleviating redness and irritation.

Stabilised retinol ester targets fine lines and blemishes. Vitamins C and E help to combat hyperpigmentation and shield against free radicals. Dr. Leslie Baumann wrote a great review of the debate and summarized the research available about retinyl palmitatehere. It seems that there is a study showing RP being photo protective against UVB rays but there is also a study showingRP causing DNA damage and cytotoxicity in association with UVA.

SAP (the vit C derivative, not the enterprise software, obvs) is a promising derivative that has great stability up to pH 7. The challenge with it thoughis skin penetration. Unfortunately, it seems to be limited, or to quote a great article from theJournal of Cosmetic Dermatology "topically applied ascorbyl phosphate salts are, at very best, poorly absorbed in comparison with AA". Regarding conversion to AA, there seems to be no data about it, so we can neither deny nor confirm it. Vitamin C: A powerful antioxidant, vitamin C helps brighten the skin, even out skin tone, and protect against free radicals. It also stimulates collagen production for improved skin elasticity. Retinol targets fine lines and blemishes. Vitamins C and E help to combat hyperpigmentation and shield against free radicals. Transparent product labeling: Facetheory emphasizes transparency in product labeling. They provide detailed ingredient lists and explain the purpose and benefits of each ingredient.

What's more, the anti-aging effectiveness is not the only questionable thing about RP. It also exibits questionable behaviour in the presence of UV light and was the center of a debate between the non-profit group, EWG (whose intentions are no doubt good, but its credibility is often questioned by scientists) and a group of scientists and dermatologists lead bySteven Q. Wang, MD, director of dermatologic surgery at Memorial-Sloan Kettering Cancer Centre. In regards to the 3 magic ingredients: Retinol, Vitamin C and Hyaluronic Acid– I didn’t notice a difference at all. After over a months use, I don’t think my skin seemed brighter or more plump/smoother. It’s definitely moisturised but I didn’t notice any added extras. Is it worth the price? We have better news regarding the three magic abilities of vitamin C: there is in-vivo (tested on real people) data showing that SAP does have photo-protective (aka antioxidant) properties, though less than pure AA. SAP might also aid collagen boosting;in-vitro (made in the lab) data shows that it works, but is less effective than another vitamin C derivative, called MAP (that seems to be as effective as pure AA). As for skin-brightening, there is a trade publication with in-vivo data showing that SAP can fade brown spots. Shea butter emolliates and provides a quercetin boost. Argan oil contains omega acids to nourish dry skin. Shea Butter: Shea butter is a rich moisturizer that nourishes and protects the skin. It helps retain moisture and improves skin elasticity. As for the disadvantages, Zinc Oxide is also not cosmetically elegant. It leaves a disturbing whitish tint on the skin , although , according to a 2000research paper by Dr. Pinnell, it's slightlyless white than TiO2. Still, it's white and disturbing enough to use Zinc Oxide nanoparticles more and more often. And there is even more regarding SAP and acne. A nice double-blind study from 2009 showed that 5% SAP reduced the inflammatory lesions by 20.14% and 48.82% within 4 and 8 weeks respectively and when combined with 0.2% retinol the results were even better. With this combination treatment, the improvement was 29.28% after 4 weeks and 63.10% after 8 weeks of application. Shea butter naturally emolliates dry patches and provides a quercetin boost along with some natural sun protection. I am very active normally and so I am out and about for hours in all weather, which of course puts my skin through it's paces.

Facetheory is 100% vegan and 100% cruelty-free. None of their ingredients are tested on animals, finished products are not tested on animals, and they don’t sell to markets that require animal testing. Finally, no Facetheory ingredients are animal-derived. Where does Facetheory ship from? It'salso highly stableand non-irritating. So much sothat Zinc Oxide also counts as a skin protectant and anti-irritant. It's also often used to treat skin irritationssuch as diaper rash.

ACTIVE INGREDIENTS

The first main difference is that while TiO2 gives a nice broad spectrum protection, Zinc Oxide has an even nicerand even broader spectrum protection. It protects against UVB, UVA II, and UVA I almost uniformly, and is considered to be the broadestrange sunscreen available today. Something else which is slightly unusual is that they give you the option to buy a mandarin scented version and a fragrance free one. Of course I opted for the fragrance free. Which in reality doesn’t mean free of any fragrance – just not an artificial one! The smell of the unscented moisturiser is actually lovely. A herbal smell but nothing too overbearing. Organic Tamanu Oil: natural oil extracted from the seeds of a tropical evergreen in Southeast Asia. It is rich in antioxidants and has anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. The Tamanu Oi l soothes and softens your skin and it has a mild, nutty smell. It works well on dry skin, scars, or stretch marks, and it can be used to treat eczema and rosacea. It also works well as an after-sun oil.

No need to worry about that greasy feeling when using the Tamanu Oi l offered by Facetheory. Instead, you’re left with dewy-looking skin that feels fresh. The oil provides extra hydration for dry and sensitive skin, and is recommended for most skin types. As with my other moisturisers from Facetheory, the top of the jar is screw-top and easy to get off. There’s no cardboard/foil seal that you usually find on moisturising creams, which strongly suggests that there are no artificial preservatives (another brownie point from me). To apply, you use your finger (or a small spatula) to get the product out of the jar. As with my other Facetheory products, only a small amount is required as the skincare products from this brand contain a high concentration of actives. I usually dot a few small dabs of the cream around my face before gently rubbing in (see the landscape video below of me applying it). Retinol: Retinol is a form of vitamin A that aids in reducing the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and hyperpigmentation. It helps promote skin cell turnover and renewal. If you prefer a stronger retinoid, you may wish to consider our pro version with 3% Retinol Liposomes.

Urban Decay Electric Palette Review And Swatches

Hello lovelies! I'm looking for people who have used Facetheory products and their thoughts on them, or those who have researched them and have opinions. Niacinamide: Also known as vitamin B3, niacinamide helps improve skin texture, reduce the appearance of pores, and regulate sebum production. It also has anti-inflammatory properties. Retinol targets fine lines and blemishes by expediting cell turnover. Encapsulation protects the retinol and enables it to penetrate deeper into the epidermis. Another thing SAP might be able to do is to help with acne. A 2005 study showed in vitro (in test tubes) that 1% SAP has a strong antimicrobial activity on evil acne causing P. acnes and it also showed in vivo (on real people) that 5% SAP can strongly improvethe inflammatory and non-inflammatory lesions of acne vulgaris. In fact, the results were comparable or even slightly better than with 5% benzoyl peroxide.
