About this deal

The POGS headphone are engineered to adjust as the child grows. It comes with an adjustable headband sizes and you can adjust the headphone up to three different levels.

Suitable for ages five to 12, the adjustable headband shifts by 3.2cm on each side, which is more than generous, and the build feels as if it will survive plenty of abuse. As with most Bluetooth pairs, there’s also a microphone for calls (or home schooling if the worst happens again) and while voice clarity wasn’t conference call worthy, we really hope it isn’t a feature we need for a while. Sound quality from the 40mm drivers is as good as it needs to be and the battery life is solid, with 16 hours with noise cancelling on and 24 hours with it switched off. The standby charge is rated to 200 hours too, so you shouldn’t have to keep charging them. These are one of the first bone-conducting headphones for children. If you’re not familiar with bone-conduction headphones, let us fill you in. These sit on your cheekbone, not in or on your ear. There are several benefits to this. One is that you can then still hear environmental sounds – great for kids walking to school. The next benefit is that people with hearing loss can use them, and hear the audio playing. One school of thought is that they reduce hearing damage, but the jury is still out on that one. The headphones emit light on the sides. No bright light, but cozy light. In the shape of a tent. How well does the POGS headphones fit With this in mind, one of the safety feature that POGS implemented with their headphones is the maximum volume. What this means is that, the headset limits the loudness level of the sound it produces to acceptable level that will not cause any potential damage to the hearing of the children. Furthermore, even if you set the device volume level to maximum to increase the loudness of sound produces by the headset, the headset will simply adjust its setting to keep the loudness level within the safety range. Pretty cool right? They fitted well on all the kids who tried them, and while they didn’t match the JBL for ear squishiness, no comfort issues were raised. We think they’re an ideal pair for an older child eight to 12 years and with 24 hour battery and the ability to daisy-chain them together for listening parties with the bundled cable, there’s a lot to like.

OK, so after begging for days, you’ve finally caved and got them their most-wanted piece of tech – perhaps a fancy smartwatch or a Nintendo Switch, maybe even a tablet or a smartphone. Kudos to you, you could’ve just got them a Tamagotchi.Additionally, since the one we have here are wireless, it would have been awesome if there's a kind of remote that turns the headset off remotely. So parents can control the pleasure time of using these headphones. The POGS headphones are rated to last up to 12 hours of continuous listening. Unfortunately, we are not certain about the battery capacity used for these headphones. Battery score: 8.5/10
