About this deal

Handheld network radios look and function like traditional two-way radios (a.k.a walkie-talkies, DMRs, or ham radios). But, instead of using UHF/VHF frequencies to connect, they connect via the Internet using a SIM card or Wi-Fi signal. However, the word internet radio also refers to the device that is capable of receiving and playing radio streams. Another common name for these devices is WiFi radio.

I am very happy with it and i am a ham radio op there is a new world to discover with this radio its just the finding them once you have then its all opened up for you This cookie, set by YouTube, registers a unique ID to store data on what videos from YouTube the user has seen. This is partly because app developers collect their revenues via the Play Store. Furthermore, apps like Google Play Store are not designed to work standalone, so even if you tried to sideload it, it just wouldn’t work (I tried, much to Filip’s amusement). Note: There are also a few hybrid Network Radio devices that also include a VHF and/or UHF radio module.Network radios can also communicate to each other – not directly but via the network. This is, arguably, the one aspect that upsets people. Many have difficulty accepting it as ‘radio’, although, in its strictest sense, it clearly is. Again… you’re not grasping what network radio is here… I’ve just been talking to a guy in the US on my network radio who is mobile on a VHF repeater… It wasn’t weak and it involved RF on amateur bands…

The whole experience with the M5 seemed positive and professional to all three of us, as befits the radio’s origins. The ‘feel’ is of a device worthy of its price tag, minor niggles notwithstanding.Q: Is an user of network radio goverened by the wireles telegraphy regulations for rf transmissions..NO I will relay a short anecdote, it’s a true story but the person will remain nameless. A network radio unit was sent to the main man of one of the big organisations within the hobby in the UK. I’m being as vague as I can here. That person was initially quite anti the idea and allowed the unit to gather dust for a bit. The person who loaned the unit, eventually got them to give it a go. Now that person is actively using it and has said that he is loving it. It can become problematic when the integrated database is no longer supplied with updates. Therefore, it can happen that stations are no longer available. For receiving radio stations over the internet, you do not necessarily need an internet radio device. If it is a DAB radio, it will self-tune and the display will tell you what station you are listening to. There is no tuning dial.
