About this deal

A Crusade is a gathering led by a religious figurehead, thus often has a more focused direction than a mob. Redemptionist Brethren (Ganger): Sheesh, it would have been nice for the Necro crew to come up with another name for Redemptionist gangers, but whatever. Redemptionist Brethren have similarly mediocre stats when compared to Cawdor Brethren, but don’t have access to blunderpoles and don’t get Devout Masses. And they’re 5 credits more expensive. Unfortunately, the only reason to take Redemptionist Brethren is to pad out your Fanatical fighters to become or stay Outlaws. As gangers, they’re honestly fine , but they’re nowhere near the optimal choice. The Word-Keeper is a Pious fighter, meaning they’ll count towards the Law-Abiding segment of the Cawdor roster.. As for equipment, the Word-Keeper’s list is expanded, giving them access to all of the “regular” Cawdor armory, and even a few new weapons that don’t seem to have models yet (our guess is a plastic upgrade kit somewhere down the line). Word-Keepers fill the same roles as before: close combat monster, or Leadership skills support character.

Archdeacon Ludmillan is a self-styled leader of the Redemption in the Calixis Sector, who has crushed those who oppose her with ruthless efficiency. To cement her spiritual rulership, Ludmillan released a number of dictates to which all those true and pure should adhere to: The Redemptor priest is the lynchpin of any Cult of Redemption's crusade to cleanse Heretics, xenos or witches. They are the inspirational figure the brethren follow to test their faith. While House Cawdor never has a shortage of manpower due to the popularity of Redemptionists within the downtrodden hive scum of Necromunda it is said that so-called Child-Harvesters exist to roam the hab levels at night and look for lost youth to conscript. [15e] Pilgrim's Spire The Arch Zealot of the Redemption — A famed and successful exponent of the Redemption on Necromunda. [3] If this Article is successful, the fighter makes a move and then the player centers the 5” blast marker over the fighter and all fighters under the marker suffer a Str 3, AP0, D1 hit. The activated fighter then goes Out of Action. That’s right, Cawdor gangs who follow the Path of the Doomed can turn their fighters into suicide bombers. This shit is raw as hell, and we are here for it .Cawdor Firebrand (Champion): Hoo boy. The stats say shooting, but the skills say combat. The firebrand is one mixed-up fighter. This Pious champion’s unappealing stats and, frankly, garbage skills, might seem to make them superfluous or unnecessary, except for one thing: the Cawdor heavy crossbow . While this incredibly good weapon is wasted on a Word-Keeper, the Firebrand’s 3+ BS fits perfectly with this absolute banger of a weapon. If you’re looking for a cheap ranged support option, like if the crossbow is out of reach at gang creation, then a long rifle is a great choice for the Cawdor gang on a budget. Skills-wise, you’re going to want to go with something defensive from the Combat tree, as you’re not going to get any mileage out of anything else (unless you’re playing a Lost Zone campaign). While they’re a little unassuming, it’s fair to say that each and every Cawdor gang needs at least one Firebrand for their ranged support abilities.

We saw upgrade kits for 5 of the 6 House Gangs this year. Getting this stuff in plastic rules! However… all of the kits contain two of the same sprue, so you end up with a lot of duplicated gear that you’re just never going to use. The Goliath kit comes with 2 flamers and 2 meltaguns… but no other heavy options. Thankfully, you do get some new heads and a sweet cigar-toting arm. S moking is still cool in the underhive.

About Me

Where the Redemptor Priest really stands out is their ability to take any and all of the cool new Redemptionist weapons. Unlike their Cawdor comrades, Redemptionists tend to be armed to the teeth with some seriously excellent and well-made weapons, but more on that in a bit! All in all, the Redemptor Priest fills the same niche as the Word-Keeper, but can end up being an even more terrifying close combat monster. If you want your Leader to be sawing heretics in half, then look no further than the Redemptor Priest! Flamer [Word-Keeper, Firebrand, Cawdor Brethren]: Interestingly, Cawdor get Flamers at a 10-credit discount, but that still doesn’t make them any better than, you guessed it, the blunderpole! Sorry to keep bringing this up, but the blunderpole is really, really good. So good that we’re talking about it in the flamer entry. Rating: D

Frag Grenades [anyone]: Frag Grenades are usually a solid choice, but with access to Incendiary Charges from the get-go, they lose some luster in a Cawdor gang. Rating: D The Cawdor gang can use these Faith Dice to perform Articles of Faith. A fighter can use an Article at the beginning of the activation. Each Article has a target number that needs to be met by rolling a number of Faith Dice from the Faith Dice pool. For instance, you have 3 Faith Dice in your pool, and you are trying to enact an Article of Faith that needs a 5+ to be performed successfully. You decide that 2 dice seems sufficient to get those holy juices flowing (ew, sorry), and you roll a 9! The Article of Faith is performed, and you still have 1 Faith Die in your pool, awaiting use at a later time. Paths of Faith When you take up the weapons of the Emperor, do not show your face. You are the Emperor’s tool and not on your own business. VanSaar on other hand will require many new items in the game to make the House up to standard, for them using the same items as everyone else will be very much against their core. MAking the House lose its very defining trait.Zealots are the crazed individuals present in Redemptionist cults who have been touched by the Emperor's fury. Zealots are so filled with bile and anger against those who would transgress the God-Emperor's will that they are in an almost permanent state of rage.

Rules-wise, you’re looking at the mirror image of the Word-Keeper, with all the regular Leader abilities. A Redemptor Priest is a Fanatical fighter, meaning they count towards the Outlaw element of a Cawdor gang. As above, your Redemptor Priest must choose a Path of Faith when they’re recruited. Primary skills are Combat, Leadership, and the new Piety skills, with secondaries being Brawn, Ferocity, and Shooting. A Mob is when many Redemptionists come together without the leadership of a priest or maybe without any religious guidance at all. Thus a "mob" is generally an incensed rabble of poor citizens who decide to take action against the first group of perceived sinners they can find. Recommended equipment: Chainaxe with exterminator, Eviscerator, cheapo pistols, Book of Redemption, mesh armor, cherub-servitors. Heresy (denying the truth of the Redemption, or working against Redemptionists or worst of all worshiping Chaos) Built-in armor is, once again, gone. This translates to a 5-credit increase in price for Leaders and Champs, and a 10-credit increase for Gangers. There are no stat upgrades on any of the returning Fighters to balance these increases.By providing them with weapons and religious encouragement, the Ecclesiarchy sometimes uses Redemptionists to fight proxy wars against common enemies. Every house gang gets a special ability, and y’all, Cawdor’s unique brand of shenanigans slaps . Unlike any other gang, the Articles of Faith system is completely free and is used in every single battle . This is huge. Escher and Goliath have very powerful special rules attached to their gangs, but they’re expensive. All Cawdor gangs just get to use Articles of Faith. Full stop. Heresy (the definition of which includes denying the truth of the Redemption, or working against Redemptionists)
