The final burning question is, is Nautica Voyage N-83 worth it? No. This is one of the worst cost-for-value fragrances on the market. Many times people on fragrance forums will say a fragrance has horrible performance even if it is beast mode. Yet, Voyage N-83 is actually bad. Both of these are fantastic everyday scents that make you smell wonderful wherever you wear them. I actually wouldn’t classify either as a date-night scent, though Voyage would have somewhat of an upper hand in this case.
Whereas Nautica Voyage is based heavily on aquatic and oceanic vibes. Its most prominent notes are apple, green leaf, and musk. Nautica Voyage vs. Blue? Longevity isn’t that great either. I think that is one area where it fails to live up to the original. 4-6 hours and it fades into a skin scent. The first 3 hours, is where it’ll actually be really noticeable, with that aforementioned first hour delivering the goods. Nautica Voyageis fresh but bold; it offers an optimal mixture of water and air (cucumber) as the central accord, which is plentiful and highly satisfying. It is not sharp or salty, but truly watery fresh and green, with a soft fluffy hug of mimosa and a kind smiling good morning vibe. Therefore, it has excellent potential for women's favorable attention–they can relate to its allure. However, the noticeable steroid facet of masculine grooming products, like aftershave, prevents them from stealing it for themselves. Being so agreeable, the fragrance is masculine with almost no chance for sharing.It has almost no sillage, and projection is also nowhere to be found on this. Showering yourself in this cologne won't help it last longer, it just doesn't have the performance or quality for it. On skin its about an hour or two, and on fabrics and clothes you may get two hours at most.
The “sea tones” give N-83 a distinct oceanic aroma when it first starts up. It seems less similar to the first Voyage to me. Despite having an aquatic feel, this one is sharper than the original. It is good for casual wear or at the office (not a formal workplace, however), especially in the summer months, which is the case with pretty much any Nautica fragrance. I’d definitely lean towards casual wear or some outdoors activities like the beach. Both Nautica Voyage and Nautica Voyage N-83 are wonderful scents from the same line. While the flanker, N-83, is quite aromatic, the original smells much better to my nose. The sillage is skin close well perceptible, but the perimeter does not get much with and that is here unfortunately also the big weak point. You immediately detect a crisp, watery apple aroma with a touch of sweetness. As a side note, it's helpful to consider that there is a time and place for weaker fragrances. That N-83 isn't a projection monster or long-lasting can both be assets if you want to wear something lighter for work or just going out casually for a few hours but not be all over you when you go to bed. It is lovely good for casual wear or at the office, especially in the summer months, which is the case with pretty much any Nautica fragrance. It doesn't overpower friends or coworkers, yet someone could even find it a perfect cologne to wear during workouts and sports. It is an ideal cologne for younger men, or for anyone who wants a pure fragrance to wear during the summer. Which smells better? Does Voyage Sport have good performance? Read below for my full take on these two inexpensive colognes. N-83 opens with a noticeable blast from the ‘sea notes’, giving it a defined oceanic scent. To me it is less akin to the original Voyage and more along the lines of Tommy Bahama Set Sail St. Martinique, not exactly the same, but the salty sea notes are comparable.
It’s a nice, clean, soapy, type of scent but nothing special and there are better bets from the same brand. Though, this one is still one of their better releases. Especially, with some of the boring stuff Nautica has put out as of late. Notes include: sea spray accord, citrus zest, coriander, palm leaves, green peppercorn, apple, Brazil wood, vetiver As the citruses dissipate, the aquatic note becomes stronger, fusing with a musk. It is the same dry-down as the Nautica voyage original but has less emphasis on green wood accords. Voyage isn’t super powerful but it is noticeable and projects pretty well. I’ve noticed that a lot of the Nautica flankers don’t match up to even the decent sillage of Nautica Voyage. Which is a shame, because some of the better smelling ones could be nice cheapies.
The bottle is fine for this price, here you can certainly not expect too much, but even here I have seen worse for this price.
The main difference between the two fragrances is their aromatics. N83 is all about aromatic, spicy mint. Whereas the original Voyage has a more general watery greenness. Besides this, the scents have a similar aquatic nature with a musk base. If Voyage Sport, had better performance, it would honestly be a solid cheapie. I really liked what they were going for, but it’s just poor execution. There were some interesting things going on there. Again, Voyage takes the cake. N-83 has a tendency to fade and turn completely into a skin scent. Voyage holds up and performs well on a summer day. If it’s between the two, Voyage wins.Launched in 2006, Voyage was created by Maurice Roucel. Voyage has an air of late spring and early summer. It is a perfume for the sea. However, one that has a distinct aquatic, summertime vibe. From the top, you get a cool and spicy mint with a hint of petitgrain. Neither of which, is all that pronounced in the composition, but you will get their scent for a while. It comes across as fairly herbal with lighter musk at first, with that marine note permeating everything.
