Leak Guards: Tab-style diapers from NorthShore have leak guards around the leg openings to help control moisture. This was likely caused by the pressure of me sitting up and some of the fluid get squeezed out a bit. By this point, the diaper was pretty much fully saturated. For a lighter to moderate wetter, these diapers would do just fine. When I was in my early 20’s they still worked quite well for me. It's the day you leave for a trip to Italy. You are waiting to board the plane. Flying time is nine hours and 38 minutes. Boarding passes are in hand. Now I’m pretty heavy wetter at night so I generally need a bit more protection than most but it still held up through the night. I did have a bit of minor leaking as I got up but the results will vary from person to person.
While I do think this is still among the best adult diapers, for both night and daytime use, it has begun to fall out of favor because it seems to always have some sort of manufacturing error going on these days. If not THE BEST diaper then it’s certainly a top contender. This of course is a difficult thing to really judge until I have enough data on every diaper across the market to make such a claim. For some reason, at the time I couldn’t bring myself NOT to use a booster pad in each as that is how I normally wear the Confidry diaper. I started using them with booster pads mainly because they have had a clumping issue for some time now. I’m not sure when it started happening but it is a problem they have had that I have overlooked for a long time now. How well any particular brand performs for you or for me can depend on a number of factors. Despite those variables they all seem to have a surprisingly similar capacity level!
The Delta-Form M3 performed similarly to the Abri-Form M4 when it came to odor reduction. The tendency for surface moisture after only a single wetting contributes to odors and the structure doesn’t do a good job at retaining them. The breathability may help in some ways by reducing sweating, but it's countered by more easily allowing odors to escape when they do form. The diaper itself doesn’t have any added fragrance and the padding doesn’t seem particularly adept at preventing odors from developing. The sizing of this diaper runs large and in my review, following the recommended sizing I went with a small rather than the usual medium. The sizing is comparable to the ConfiDry 24/7, which now has me curious about how the small size of that diaper would fit. Overall, I found this diaper to be comfortable and surprisingly breathable, but it fell short when it came to absorbency, largely as a result of the topsheet repelling moisture causing leakage through the sides. The theoretical capacity of this diaper is certainly much greater than observed in testing, perhaps closer to the lab test result. Also, it’s marketed as a medical diaper, but it comes at a very high unit cost and after testing both I feel the NorthShore Supreme provides a better value. That said, perhaps with some design improvements it could be a great diaper for long duration wear. The Delta-Form M3 will feel mostly dry after the first wetting, but begins to feel clammy with subsequent wettings. When wet it also suffers from the same problems around padding deterioration and loosening tapes, which detract from its comfort. I’d say it falls at about the lower-to-mid-range for wet comfort as it provides a reasonable amount of absorbency and still has some degree of breathability even when saturated. I’ve ranked it slightly below the Abri-Form M4, because it has the same surface dampness issues, but also has weaker tapes and absorbs less; I don’t feel the better breathability quite makes up for those two detractors. The diaper, by itself, is very low quality. They say it CAN be used on its own but this is not something I can personally recommend myself.
