Watering can: When using just the pads and then the polish, water is sprinkled onto the floor. A garden-style watering can works well. Shine– Honed marble tends to have an unpolished and matte finish. The surface doesn’t really reflect light and features a more natural appearance. However, polished marble is shined and smoothed with abrasive materials to reflect the light. That gives it the bright look. Shined marble is more common in homes, but honed marble is becoming increasingly popular. Vacuum and clean as usual: Vacuum the marble for a final time, and then clean it using your normal routine. If you don’t have one or want to see what the pros recommend, our How to Clean Marble Floors Guide has the answers.

Start gritty: Go over your floor first with the coarsest (lowest number) pad in the set, usually 50, 64 or 100 grit. Keep the sander moving, never holding it in once spot to prevent gouging the marble. Cover the entire floor. Monster Polishing Powder is a highly advanced and unique Marble Polishing Powder. Expertly formulated to lightly Hone and Polish dull marble, providing the perfect finish to floors, worktops and walls etc. If swallowed, DO NOT induce vomiting. seek medical advice immediately and show this container and labelDIY tip: A corded orbital sander is a better choice than a cordless unit. While keeping the cord out of the way is a slight nuisance, you will appreciate having continuous power for many hours of polishing. There won’t be interruptions switching batteries or waiting for a battery to charge. A palm sander can be rented at Home Depot and elsewhere, but the charge for a single weekend is about half the cost of buying the unit. DIY enthusiasts will find many other uses for the sander, so owning rather than renting is our recommendation. Product is ready to use – Test an inconspicuos area for any adverse reaction. Don't put too much of the product on the marble surface, or you could damage it. Less is more. You can always repeat it if you don't get rid of the etches./li> Use a clean and slightly moistened piece of white cotton cloth, such as a washcloth, and rub until the area is completely dry. Soft microfiber cloths are the best for cleaning marble, but you can also use cotton cleaning cloths as long as they are not too scratchy or abrasive. Never use harsh scrubbing materials such as stainless steel scour pads or other metal material, as these will damage the marble surface. Step-by-Step Guide for Polishing Marble SurfacesFor touching up small surfaces or patches it is possible to polish by hand. This will only lead to a lower level of gloss; it is preferable to use a polishing machine. On smaller surfaces we recommend polishing machines with approx. 1000 rpm. For floors, a one disc polishing machine with approx. 140 to 180 rpm, 40 to 50 kg, pressure of approx. 0,37 N/cm² to 0,52 N/cm² is necessary. If your pad gets caked with dust, use a soft nylon brush to remove it as needed. When the pad stops making dust, its diamond grit is gone, and it must be replaced.

Before the marble flooring can be honed and polished, it needs to be made smooth by marble grinding to make the uneven floor smooth, so the tile edges are all the same height. DIY tip: Buy a second set of diamond polishing pads, especially if doing a marble floor larger than a bathroom. You won’t run out of pads in the middle of the job, and the extras can be used for touching up small scratches, saved for your next marble floor polishing project in a few years or used to refinish things like metal cabinets and more. Make sure that you test the product on an inconspicuous area or on a spare tile before using it. That way, you know there won’t be problems.Use a slightly moistened and clean white towel and rub the area until it’s dry, but don’t apply too much pressure here.

Advice: it may be advisable to wet the surface with MN Power Clean rather than with water. This reduces the risk of matt stains due to splashes on already polished surfaces. On small areas, the product can be mixed with MN Power Clean to form a paste, which is easier to use. Rinses easily and is perfectly suited to fabrication polishing as well as floor polishing applications.
