Now that we have that out of the way time to talk about what makes this one of the best cordless jigsaws. First off, in design it differs in the fact that it produces a very large amount of torque which gives longer battery life and less motor friction. With an 18V Lithium Ion XLT battery, you will be putting out a whopping 390W or up to 3500 strokes per minute of output which is impressive to say the least in the cordless genre. Furthermore, you will be able to cut a maximum 135mm into hardwood. The 4350CT has three orbital settings plus straight cutting, powered by a Makita-built 6.3 AMP motor. The electronic variable speed control (800 - 2,800 SPM) is engineered to maintain consistent speed throughout the cut for superior results. The motor is dynamically balanced for 40% less tool vibration and lower noise than competitive models. The 4350CT has a 26mm length of stroke, with a wood cutting capacity of 135mm at 90° and a steel cutting capacity of 10mm at 90°. Much like all Jigsaws on this list, the corded DeWalt has an easy tool-free change system for blades and also accepts T-shank Blades. The dust blower was the best of the units tested and more than adequately cleared the work area of dust and debris while cutting. Finally, the Rubber coated grip was my favourite for extended use as it drastically reduced vibrations in my hand. Over the years I've always stayed away from named products like Makita, Dewalt and other big named tools due to the excess they charge for there products. The Makita 4329 Jigsaw is ideally suited for light duty activities and will appeal to both the professional and the serious DIY enthusiasts. Incorporating a counterweight balancing system, which reduces vibration, the 4329 can be used for long periods without operator fatigue occurring. A sliding dust cover improves dust collection and prevents the scattering of chips. Fitted with a smooth rigid aluminium base which is rustproof and glides over the workpiece. Bevel cutting up to 45 degrees left or right is also possible with the tiltable base. At the end of the day it's just a jigsaw and maybe to some people an over inflated priced jigsaw but to me it's a nicely priced jigsaw that if it breaks down at all I'm able to get it serviced at a Makita service centre or I've able to get hold of parts on the internet to do it myself. I suppose the two biggest factors to take into account when deciding between corded or cordless jigsaws is application and budget. Both corded and cordless will handle similarly power wise but if you finding yourself moving around between cuts often, cordless is the way to go. Ideally suited for light duty activities such as the installation of new work surfaces, boxing around baths or for fixing panelling to alter décor appearances
