About this deal

Jokes aside, Night Lords are my fave traitor legion. Their lore is great and the concept of various warbands of these major screw ups roving around the galaxy is great for creating your very own group of deluded murderers. There is also an element of Kurze totally and utterly failing his sons on every level, dooming them to their current tragedy of an existence that I personally enjoy. Mix in some Stormhost Sliver in your Liberator Gold. Do a thicc highlight. Seriously almost layer it on. The Liberator Gold paint from Citadel is a high-quality acrylic paint specifically formulated for miniature painting. It boasts a rich, metallic pigmentation that provides excellent coverage and a lustrous, matt finish. This paint is considered a “must-have” in a beginner’s palette, as its versatility and foundation-like quality make it an ideal base coat for layering and highlighting other colors. The pigments in this paint are carefully selected and blended to create a color that will truly make your miniatures shine, and can be seen as a cornerstone of any miniature painter’s collection. What armies to paint with Liberator Gold

When the battle lines form and the rows of Stormcast Eternals charge, the Celestar Ballista adds a dose of firepower to cut down the enemies of Sigmar. With the size of the barrels you could easily mistake it for a quad-barrelled heavy bolter with some fancy mounting, but the ballista is worth it’s weight in plastic. A start to finish tutorial for the ballista can be found on our Youtube Channel, while the other crewman will be up as a video tutorial on 2nd March 2020. For the love of god, don’t do the armour 1st. Start with the fresh hell that is gold trim on chaos marines. So, we have very, very dark blue with a lightish gold and a lot of red. This combo looks great if you can pull it off. You can see my method of painting the white shoulder symbol on the Celestar Ballista crew video around the 17 minute mark. Retibutor has only one other competitor for a Base gold paint, and that's Balthasar Gold. I have to say, as a gold paint, it far outshines its predecessor. That's not to say Balthasar is bad, in fact I love that paint. If you are being fair though Balthasar Gold isn't really a gold paint, it's more accurately a brass or copper. Retributor Gold though is exactly what it says it is. It's a rich, deep, and fairly bright gold color. I am beyond excited that I finally have a real gold Base paint.I am an indifferent painter at best, so the obvious choice was a Chapter featuring a lot of white, the hardest colour for Space Marine armour. The Mentor Legion have not historically mustered in strength, being too busy swanning around the galaxy teaching other Imperial forces how to shoot straight and so forth, but the Leviathan threat is clearly so enormous that they’re now deploying as an army. Washes – time to do some fast shading. I use Carroburg Crimson on the red parts, Nuln Oil on the metal parts, Coelia Greenshade on the cabling, and Agrax Earthshade on the gold trim and bone parts. I also use Carroburg Crimson and Nuln oil to shade the upper right corners of the gemstone. Green: Caliban Green is a dark, muted green that pairs well with Liberator Gold as a split-complementary color combination. This pairing creates a sense of balance and harmony, while also adding a touch of nature and organic feel.

It all starts with a base coat of Zandri Dust Spray and a heavy drybrush of Morghast Bone . Following that I use Agrax Earthshade to do a recess shade before highlighting every edge I can reach with White Scar . The model is then covered with a heavily thinned layer of Iyanden Yellow Contrast applied using the biggest brush I can fit in the pot. Once dry, I apply another White Scar highlight, only hitting the forward facing edges this time, before again drenching the model in thinned Iyanden Yellow. A last highlight of White Scar, focused on the most prominent points of the armour and a third and final layer of Iyanden Yellow finishes the job, and gives a wonderfully smooth yellow. Gadge: Mantis Warriors We live in dark times. With the Imperium shattering we need new leadership structures to come though. We need the bravest space marine legion. A legion that doesn’t specialise in running aw- Hit rivets etc with Army Painter Soft Tone, be as precise as a laser guided bomb here. Use it sparingly. After painting the main colours I always enjoy adding details to the armour. This is mostly custom warpaint, a few bits of script, and on some of the bigger models I paint some feathers. These little details always make a big difference to my Space Marines, giving them each some extra character.* Darcy: Imperial Fists

I had great fun painting this, working in three pieces – the body and the two arms – made it easier to get to all those hard-to-reach places. I undercoated it with Leadbelcher , as the metal areas were a bit harder to reach, with the glorious blue of the XIII Legion being added carefully after all the metal was fully painted – using Macragge Blue as a basecoat, Basilicanum Grey as a shade, and then three successive highlights of Altdorf Guard Blue , Calgar Blue , and finally Fenrisian Grey . Ed: Dark Angels Red: Mephiston Red is a deep, rich red that can be used as an analogous color to Liberator Gold. This color combo creates a sense of warmth and energy, making it perfect for highlighting the details of the metallic elements of your miniatures. I was wondering how close in color the new ones are the the "old" ones I have. Also what is the main difference in the type of paint it is. Thanks. New paints are always exciting to me since I am primarily a painter. GW's last additions to their paint range, the Technical Paints, were a resounding success, and now they bring us Retributor Gold and Liberator Gold. Retributor is a Base paint while Liberator is a Layer paint. These are meant to coincide with the new Stormcast Eternals models, and having painted one, they work perfectly for them. The three lightest silvers (Aluminium, Chrome and Sliver) are all the same as far as I can tell. I bought and used all three, and I just cannot see any difference.
