About this deal

These are the classic Kyosho electric buggies originally designed by Akira Kogawa according to what I could find online (years may be wrong): Soft front and rear tires are included for racing performance. Inner sponges are also built into the front tires and deliver powerful grip and control. The car was driven by the Norwegian Eivind Loyd Pettersen, at the time the owner of the Norwegian Serpent, Basilisk, Tomo, CRP, Thorpe, Mirage, JG and Associated distributor. Jay Halsey came in a very close second with his RC10. So though the Scorpion was outdated at the time the RC10 was released, it still had a chance in the hands of talented mechanics and drivers for some time. Gearbox is equipped with slipper clutch to protect the gearbox and drive system from sudden load changes such as jump landings. Easy to adjust and adaptable to various racing conditions. Upgrade with optional slipper pad (SCW021 HD) for compatibility with higher power and hard driving. From what I can see, the Ultima (far from being my favorite in the Legendary series) is having some common elements with the Optima chassis class... And this probably also one of the reasons I didn't put it on my list of must have: when I was teenager, I dreamed about the Turbo Scorpion and about Optima/Javelin. I never dreamt about the Ultima, probably because there was the Optima...

I'm taking it for a spin on the super flat factory floor tomorrow (when our production has gone home) and upload a video later The only way I'd recommend using anything up to 10T or so brushless motor is with a belt drive conversion and OT-74 limiter gear set (for the Optima), hard final pinion gear in the rear diff and a modern ESC that you can dial down the punch so that the car doesn't have too much torque on acceleration. The punch adjustment functions more or less like a slipper gear. Note that the limiter gear isn't a slipper gear, it just has a beefy spring or a set of spring washers (there are 2 variants) that protect the counter gear from damage while landing jumps. I did all those upgrades with my Barney Optima build and went with an 11T Tacon 3200 kV motor, I wouldn't recommend going any more powerful than that with a vintage Optima or Ultima...and far less than that if you don't do some serious bulletproofing. Rear gearbox is equipped with ball differential that produces traction stability without affecting road grip. The front skid on the carbon chassis improves clearance over surface gaps while front caster angle setting optimizes handling characteristics. Actually, the word on those were that they worked like crap and didn't last long before the gear got chewed up. I don't think you'll find a single positive review of those clutch bells. The electrics F bag. The final stage of the built is to add electrics and the wheels and body which are waiting to be mounted. The gear box UT002 is the same gear box that I currently have in my Ultima and i have a spare gear box I just found in the old parts box so from the list I got from here http://www.kyosho.com/jpn/support/instr ... A_spop.pdf Plan is to use Kyosho's Le Mans 240S 15.5T 4WD brushless motor and Kyosho's 60 amp ESC, a combo I am already using in a re-release Javelin and a Turbo Scorpion. The Turbo Scorpion has a top speed of over 37mph (60km/h) on 3S Lipo. In wet weather on 2S, it provides a top speed of about 25mph (40km/h). Both re-release buggies are fitted with front and rear sway bars, providing improved cornering.

By far the strongest and fastest brushed motor in my collection. I'm waiting for a LeMans 240SB and a LeMans 480T from Japan but for now this is the powertrain. ULTIMA has been faithfully recreated, with component upgrades for compatibility with modern power sources. The rear wing is solid ABS plastic. The vintage one is polycarbonate and has a slightly different shape. For me, it would be history kinda repeating itself. In the 80's I started with a Hornet, and eventually I got an Ultima Pro, but about the same time Teenager years were drawing my attention elsewhere. You know, Battletech. GIANT STOMPY ROBOTS. Oh yeah girls and cars, but GIANT STOMPY ROBOTS.

Equipped with +2mm offset rear wheel hub. Wide tread setting is available when combined with the included 1mm spacers. For me this is more of a resto for both the ultima and optima but both a playable resto trying to digest all the new stuff After the Maxxum FF Akira Kogawa left Kyosho but the next seven buggies are still evolutions of the classics: Each component has been faithfully designed and manufactured based on the specifications of the championship winning machine. i do not or will not race the Ultima or my Optima just to go out and play a little bit the motors I have are brushed motors and are old but still work they have all been rebuilt many times! From what i have read between brushed and brushless the brushless motorsStarted to assemble the slipper clutch this morning and I might get the updated pads from the Scorpion. Is an option and seems to make sense with my planed motor setup. Yes I know they are old but both are in good shape! I found the trunk they were stored in for years after cleaning out the shop after the Beachi creek forest fire he in oregon. So i got to thinking about updating both of them??? Front and rear double wishbone suspension adopts the proven OPTIMA design. Similar front-rear geometry ensures handling stability at all speed ranges. Impact-resistant nylon lower arm combines with metal rod upper arm to enable camber adjustment. Upgrade with optional titanium adjust rod 38mm (No.92413) for both front and rear. The Dirt Master is basically an RB5 from a geometry POV. So this makes a close equivalent to the RC10B4 from Associated or a TRF201.
