At some point between Decepticon Megatron adding his message to the disk and the beginning of the Beast Wars, the spacecraft holding the disk—or perhaps only the disk—fell into the hands of the Transformers. It was seemingly considered a precious artifact, even though the general population of Maximals had no idea what it really was (and even some Predacons—like the reformatted Decepticon Ravage—didn't have a clue). The Maximal Elders were presumably aware of the Disk's origin.
Firstly, the comics included a rough approximation of the Gobots characters. Secondly, they were never explicitly stated as Gobots either. The quantum surge causes a time vortex, intercepting the GoBot Road Ranger and the Autobots Pipes and Huffer, pulling them through time and space. During the wild journey through the vortex, Huffer and Pipes fuse and arrive on prehistoric Earth as PufferAcross five central characters, each wave features four cards with a unique destiny for the four characters chosen in that wave. The destinies vary from references to past- Transformers work to new concepts. The illustrations sometimes feature new color schemes or designs for the characters. Like I've said, there's no clear answer for this. It's why Apple and Samsung have gone to court over reverse engineering, and many other similar lawsuits. I daresay Hasbro doesn't want to suffer any potentially legal or financial problems linked to it. No, there isn't. Just because Action Toys can make Machine Robo toys under license from Bandai doesn't mean that Hasbro can't make Go-Bots. There are two different sets of IP. If Hasbro's IP didn't include the likenesses, and Bandai's rights work the way people claim here, then the IDW comics series would have infringed on

Optimus Prime's third card, Nemesis Prime, homages the reformatting sequence from The Transformers: The Movie, though Optimus Prime himself is recolored from his first card. Kingdom Terrorsaur includes a Golden Disk, identical to the Vok disk from the Kingdom Autobot Ark (complete with the erroneous "Sounds of Earth" reverse design from the Voyager disc) but with darker paint.
