About this deal

With the Hyper Pro Staff, Federer moved from an 85 sq. in. racquet to a 90 sq. in. racquet. Pro Staff Tour 90 (2003-2004) At the moment we all know that Federer uses the Wilson Pro Staff RF 97 Autograph and has done since 2014. But before that, he used a 90 square inch frame for most of his career. If you’re a beginner tennis player who wants a racquet endorsed by Federer but you don’t have the strength or skill to handle the weight of the Pro Staff RF97 Autograph, there are other options. Wilson also designed two similar racquets called the Pro Staff 97 and the Pro Staff LS.

My first racquet was 100 sq. inch Wilson (about 10 years ago, got it as a present and have no idea what it even was even though I still have it). Last year I was looking for a racquet and decided on the Wilson PS 6.1 90. I have played with it over a year and the only difference I feel is that it’s slightly heavier (I’m around a 4.0). A tennis pro at a club one time laughed at me when he found out that I was using it because he said he would never recommend it to anyone. I’m assuming because it was so difficult to hit with? Yet, I still don’t feel a difference at all. Federer used this red racquet at the 2018 Laver Cup. The limited-edition racquets were auctioned to raise money for charity. Pro Staff Laver Cup Limited Edition Blue (2019) Power pads aren’t commonly used by players on the ATP or WTA circuits these days. However, you’ll find them on all of Federer’s racquets. Federer played some of his best tennis between 2004 and 2006. He won a total of 11 grand slams during that time. K-Factor Six.One Tour 90 (2007-2009) The Federer forehand is a shot that’s helped the Swiss legend win 17 Grand Slams and dominate the sport like no other player before him. But how has he developed the forehand into such a potent shot? Let’s take a look at what makes the Federer forehand the shot it is today. Federer Forehand OverviewIf we look at some of the individual specs like weight, stiffness and string pattern, you can see why it’s so well suited to the Swiss maestro.

The heavier your racquet, the more power potential you have. It’s like hitting a nail with a hammer. Would you be able to hit a nail into a piece of wood faster with a toy hammer the size of your pinky or with a hammer the width of your arm?

In reality, it’s very similar to a lot of other ‘players’ frames out there that have high static weights, significant headlight biases and thin beams like the Yonex VCORE Pro 97.
