About this deal

The use of leather, fur, and organic materials in their armor and weapons led to the decision to include these armies on the list. These armies would be a fantastic match for the Doombull Brown paint, which is perfect for painting organic objects and giving them a sense of age and patina. Doombull Brown Colour Schemes & Combinations My yellow armor is painted fairly simply following a method from The Mighty Brush. I prime in tan, pre-shade with VMA Mud and Rust, add a highlight of Insignia White, then lightly airbrush layers of Medium Yellow over until I’m happy with the vibrance. I do some edge highlights with Phalanx Yellow and a pinwash of AK Paneliner for Sand and Desert to finish up the yellow, after which it gets weathered primarily by sponging Rhinox Hide.

Mix Mournfang Brown with Lahmian Medium (80% Mournfang, 20% Medium) to create a wash. Wash the entire overcoat with this mix. Once dry, give it a light second coat. There is a lot more of this on your jetbikes. Here only the gauntlets are leather. I used VMC Cavalry brown, making sure to avoid the red cloth on the underside of his forearms and the gold detailing. I then washed the leather with Agrax Earthshade. Highlight thehair, beard, Sebastian the hedgehog’s face, trousers, front boot fur trim with Karak Stone. The Primaris Intercessor was primed with Mechanicus Standard Grey from Games Workshop, the armour then basecoated with a couple of thinned coats of Formula P3 Pig Iron [ Leadbelcher]. I like to add a little drop of Vallejo Game Color Glaze Medium or Lahmian Medium to thin metallic paints, in addition to a drop of water. Metallic paints tend to dry rather fast, and the Glaze Medium will help to create a smoother basecoat. Of course, you could also use Leadbelcher spray for basecoating, or even use an airbrush. Start with a base coat of Rhinox Hide, then we will use our reddish brown from the armor to highlight. This will give our army a cohesive color palette, as we end up using the same colors for different purposes. Both the Chaplain and the Judiciar had their skeleton ribs painted the same as the skeleton on the Ancient’s banner, Rakarth Flesh and then Flayed One Flesh. Though no master of strategy or battle doctrine, a Doombull is capable of leadership, of a sort. It is he that bellows the raw will of the Dark Ones, triggering a terrifying stampede that can only end when the horde's unnatural thirst is quenched with the blood of Man or they are completely wiped out themselves. Eshin Grey: Eshin Grey is a cool blue color that can be used as a split-complementary color to Doombull Brown, creating a balanced color scheme. It can be used to create highlights and shadows on the Doombull Brown. I wanted my Blade Champion to represent a certain celebrity as featured in a recent video game adaptation. I suspect this was GW’s intention if you look at the name they’ve used for the character in Shadow Throne, Aristothes Carvellan. Adeptus Custodes Blade Champion by Crab-stuffed Mushrooms coat d'arms match the OLD citadel colours so there might be some difference. Shining gold has the most noticeable difference, Coat D'Arms match the OLD citadel colours (pre-1992) so there might be some difference. Shining gold has the most noticeable difference,

Now move up to 3 parts Tanned Flesh to 1 part Doombull brown and, you guessed it, cover almost everything. There’s more to painting the Adeptus Custodes than just spraying your models down with Retributor Armor spray – though that’s certainly an option if you want to save time. We’ll look at several different methods for painting them here. Crab-Stuffed Mushroom’s Method I wanted to do my Custodes in NMM (Non metallic metal) but also wanted something I could replicate across a whole army without losing the will to live. After many hours of watching people wet blend / glaze etc I came up with this. It’s not the most realistic gold but I think it looks good and most importantly doesn’t take too long. People have described it as “cell shaded” which I like. The process is the same for vehicles or infantry, I just use an airbrush on the vehicles (but exactly the same colours and steps). The steps are quite repetitive and it looks a mess almost right until the end so keep persevering with it Golds I highlighted the lenses with Mephiston Red, then old Blood Red [ Evil Sunz Scarlet], concentrating my highlights on the front and lower parts of the lenses. It helps to paint your heads separately no matter what you do, but this is especially important for your skin, because you don’t want to get flesh tones on your nice finished armor color. For the flesh tones, I wanted something a bit greyer and more inhuman than your standard Cadian Fleshtone. I go into more detail in the HTPE: Human Skin article, but for Caracalla, the skin is VGA Dwarf Skin mixed with a mid/slightly dark grey. To highlight, I mixed in more of the dwarf skin, though the entire color range I used has a good proportion of grey in it. Instead of a flesh wash, I used diluted nuln oil to wash the skin.

Do you like gold? The Adeptus Custodes are the Emperor’s personal bodyguard and his greatest warriors. Each Custodian is a demigod in golden armor, wielding the Imperium’s most finely-wrought weapons, surpassing even the Space Marines in martial prowess and tactical acumen. Simply put: These guys are the best, of the best (of the best). Don’t let Space Marine or Grey Knight players tell you different!Spot Highlight the armor (gold and leadbelcher parts) with Stormhost Silver (try to ‘dot’ the edges of the armor only – less is more)! Optional) Paint the armor with Satin Varnish to give it a nice sheen (pure gloss varnish is too shiny)! Highlight almost the entire jewel with Ahriman Blue (leave some of the previous layer showing at the edges).

Paint diagonal cross line patterns of Gorthor Brown on the bag shoulder strap and edges of the bag. Necrons: The Necrons are a faction in the Warhammer 40K universe known for their metallic, ancient-looking armor and machinery. Doombull Brown paint would be perfect for creating a sense of age and patina on their metallic surfaces, as well as for highlighting details on their weapons and vehicles. Before you start highlighting, paint the white of the eyes with Rakarth Flesh (you can correct any mistakes you made by re-applying Darkoath Flesh). P3 Paints did not really match very closely with the old GW range, but a detailed explanation of each paint can be found here: http://www.brushthralls.com/pre-painting-prep/color-theory-10p3.htmlAnother optional stage, but one I’m quite fond of, is adding battle damage. Using the same brown as the base coat, sponge it on some of the armor plate’s edges. Less is more when it comes to battle damage. Notes-Applying the wash at the end of the painting process will tie the colours together and make the transitions smoother. It can, however, result in a gloss finish. Matt varnish will fix this. How to paint Light Dapple Horses Skin Finally base the model in a way which fits in with your collection. I used Stirland Mud texture paint highlighted with Karak Stone and the base edge was painted with XV-88. Static grass and scrub were glued on in small clumps. Moot Green: Moot Green is a cool green color that can be used as an analogous color to Doombull Brown, creating a balanced color scheme. It can be used to create highlights and shadows on the Doombull Brown. Finally, it’s not very visible on the final model, but the soft leather/cloth like the seat was simply:
