About this deal

The new Beta Bolter rules are also a big boost for the Storm Bolter Veterans. If you remain stationary, the unit can fire 40 shots up to 30″, giving them a huge threat range on the battlefield. This threat range increase even allows you to deploy them on the table from the start, rather than putting them in reserve, allowing you to utilise the potent firepower from your first turn. Secure Xenotech (Action): At the end of your Movement phase, one Deathwatch Infantry unit from your army can start to perform this action if it is within 3" of the Xenotech objective marker and no enemy units (excluding AIRCRAFT) are within 3" of that objective marker. This action is completed at the start of your next Command phase. If completed, remove the Xenotech objective marker from the battlefield. Example: Elliot creates a Proteus Kill Team unit that contains 1 Watch Sergeant, 4 Deathwatch Veterans and 5 Deathwatch Terminators. Before this unit is set up, Elliot uses the Combat Squads ability to create one unit containing the Watch Sergeant and 4 Deathwatch Veterans, and another containing 5 Deathwatch Terminators. This unit of 5 Deathwatch Terminators can be set up using the Teleport Strike ability because, after using the Combat Squads ability, all of the models in the new unit have the Teleport Strike ability. Building a Deathwatch kill team is super rewarding from the perspective of lore – you’ll be able to really go to town tying each Space Marine to their individual Chapter.

Each time you upgrade one of the aforementioned units, its Power Rating is increased, as shown in the table below. If you are playing a matched play game, or a game that uses a points limit, then the points value of that unit is also increased by the amount shown in the same table. Make a note on your army roster each time you upgrade a unit using these rules. Models in KILL TEAM units do not retain any keywords from their original datasheet. Instead, KILL TEAM units have the following Faction keywords: IMPERIUM, ADEPTUS ASTARTES, DEATHWATCH. The Doctrines are a great boost for the Deathwatch Veteran squad, giving you +1 to wound against a selected enemy unit. Hellfire shells are a great way of wounding most enemy units on a 2+ without a Doctrine, but there are some situations where you may want to use the Doctrines. For example, using one with a Frag Cannon allows you to wound most enemy infantry or Biker units on a 2+. They are also useful when targeting enemy vehicles with your Bolters or special weapons. As stated above, a unit of Combi-Meltas will wound most enemy vehicles on a 2+ when combined with a Doctrine. Add in Mission Tactics to re-roll failed wounds of 1, and you can cause a lot of damage in a single round of fire. To accentuate the practical gear, pouches, and belts, employ a rich brown shade. Rhinox Hide or a similar brown paint will help create a realistic appearance. Be precise while painting these elements, ensuring you don’t overlap onto other areas. Once per battle, in your Command phase, the bearer can unveil the Relic of the Primarch. If it does so, then until the start of your next Command phase:The Ultramarines’ First Company, for example, died to the last man defending their homeworld of Macragge in the first Tyrannic war and has only recently regained full strength after centuries of rebuilding. Space Marines Terminators excel at urban assaults, ship-to-ship boarding actions or any other kind of engagement where the fighting is close and vicious. The superb protection afforded by Terminator Armour mated with its devastating close-range capability enables 1 st Company Veterans to wade into the battle with irresistible force. When they are protected by Tactical Dreadnought Armour, Deathwatch Space Marines can fight toe-to-toe with the deadliest Tyranid creatures or the most monstrous Orks. No matter how heavily armoured or numerous the foe, Deathwatch Terminators can vanquish them with the devastating weaponry at their disposal. Rules AdaptationsIf your Faction is ADEPTUS ASTARTES, then the following rules adaptations apply to Space Marines rules found in Codex: Space Marines and Codex: Space Wolves. When the Adeptus Astartes fight, they employ a set of combat doctrines to eliminate the enemy. After pounding the foe with heavy weapons, warriors advance to lay down a hail of bolter fire before charging forth with chainswords roaring to finish the foe.If every unit from your army has the ADEPTUS ASTARTES keyword (excluding AGENT OF THE IMPERIUM and UNALIGNED units), this unit gains a bonus (see below) depending on which Combat Doctrine is active for your army. During the first battle round, the Devastator Doctrine is active for your army. From the second battle round onwards, at the start of the battle round, you can change which Combat Doctrine is active for your army, as follows:
