About this deal

Gravity: Gravity water filters utilize one container to hold dirty water and use gravity to move the water through the filter. Some gravity filter systems have two bags, one for dirty water and a second for clean water. Other methods only have a dirty water bag, and the filter drips water into a bottle or other container of your choice. This change of mind return policy is in addition to, and does not affect your rights under the Australian Consumer Law including any rights you may have in respect of faulty items. To return faulty items see our Returning Faulty Items policy. Hard to fill.Pretty similar to Sawyer Squeeze, the bottle does not expand when underwater, so there’s not a lot of water going in when you push the bag underwater. Unless you can always find some source of water pouring downwards, you’ll freeze your hands like I did many times using it. Depending on the manufacturer, nature of fault and time of year, warranty claims can take 1-4 weeks to resolve. We will advise you at the time the fastest way to process your warranty. Easy to fill and simple to clean and dry due to the wide opening. The wide opening allows for the Vecto to be filled easily in any water conditions: running or standing water. You no longer need to find that perfect flow of water to fill your container, or improvise filling with a secondary vessel (and contaminating your cup) - just open the wide opening and scoop the water in seconds. Attaches to filters with a 28 mm thread, such as the Sawyer Squeeze, Mini, or Micro and the HydroBlu Versa Flow Thru-hikes are a lot for any piece of gear. Things get used daily, they never really dry out, they are rarely cleaned. Just like you, your gear goes through a lot on a thru-hike and just like you, your gear may have some wear and tear on the other side. The VectoX was specifically designed with thru-hikers in mind. It is a heavier piece of gear and there may be folks who would prefer to carry an original Vecto and a Tear Aid Patch or two for the weight savings - but we wanted an alternative for folks who just wanted a water bag that would hang in there with them all 2000+ miles. One issue we’ve found with other filter systems, like Sawyer, is that the filter itself is amazing, but the bags are less durable and long-lasting than they need for outdoor use. That’s not the case for these. The CNOC Outdoors bags are available in 1L, 2L, or 3L sizes, and with the filtration speed and bag sizes, this can be a functional filtering system for groups if you’re willing to filter water a few times. The bags in the image below are 2L bags (2.8 oz), and all of the bags attach to any filter with a 28 mm thread (Sawyer Squeeze and Mini and the LifeStraw Flex). The bags have a breaking point of 220 lbs but still have the potential to be punctured or damaged.

Great compatibility with Sawyer Squeeze.Tested with a lot of pressure and not a single drop seemed to get through any other part than the filter itself. This means it’s safer as you know no dirty water mixed in with your filtered water. A cord attachment. It allows you to tie it up in a rolled position and keep it tight in your storage. Straw: Straw filters are a portable filter option, and like a drinking straw, all you have to do is put the straw filter into the water and drink. The suction of your drinking moves the water through the filter to clean it. These don’t filter much water at a time, but they work well for travel or emergencies.

Durability: What is the lifespan of all filter components? Is there a return or repair policy if components break or malfunction? What is the warranty on the products? One of the most compact and affordable water filters with a high performance level is the Sawyer Mini filter. It’s smaller and more lightweight than the Sawyer Squeeze, but it still provides the same filtering capabilities and water quality. The system has a small filter, a squeeze water bag, a straw, and a plunger/syringe to clean the filter. This filter functions the same as standard squeeze filters: Fill the water bag provided and squeeze the water to apply enough pressure to move the water through the filter. Silica Depth: Using multiple levels of finely grained silica sand, these filters work by layering the sand from largest to finest. As the water moves through the layers, the sand filters out the particles and organisms, so only clean water results. Comfortable shape. The bag has a narrower middle section that allows you to easily hold it in your hand and it also has a gusseted that allows it to stand when it’s full. Filter compatibility - the 28mm thread attaches to filters like theSawyer Squeeze, Mini, or Micro, the LifeStraw Flex, or the HydroBlu Versa Flow

Now I know some people in forums say, that if you treat the bags well, they’ll hold. And that may be true. But these small accidents will happen and it can potentially end the whole trip. That’s not something I am willing to accept. The main risks of the bags popping Fiberglass: Effective at removing particles, fiberglass filters are one of the most fragile filter media available. Made from 100% micro-fine borosilicate glass fibers, they have a high flow rate where sub-micron filtration is necessary. Fiberglass filters are commonly used to filter both liquid and air commercially.

Meet the New Cnoc Outdoors!

If you’re looking for a lightweight filter perfect for day hikes and other domestic travel applications, the Katadyn BeFree is a great option. If you are a long-distance trail runner, we favor this option because of the portable design. While the water container is small, the filter and bottle are easy to use. All you need to do is fill the water bottle, and then drink directly from the filter, which doubles as the mouth of the bottle. Alternatively, this can function as a squeeze filter to fill other water containers. The filter often requires you to squeeze the bags to get the water through. So the risk of accidentally popping one during filtration is quite high. The Vecto is a soft, 2 liters (68 oz), collapsible water container. The dual opening system allows for easy filling from a wide opening on one side and a narrow mouthpiece on the other. Use the Vecto for drinking or as part of a water filtration system with particular Sawyer and HydroBlu filters. It fits the Sawyer Squeeze net bag. This allowed me to hang the CNOC VECTO on a branch and use it as a gravity water filtration system. Gravity and squeeze filters may take a little longer, with gravity filters being the slowest. While they are slower, they are still very effective and one of the easiest to use overall. Gravity filters work well to filter a few gallons of water at a time, but it takes several minutes. The best way to use these is by filling them up at the start of a hiking break or while setting up camp. That way, the water is filtered and ready when you need it, but you can get other things done in the meantime. Maintenance and Cleaning

Having a filter that can attach to several water containers makes it more versatile and adaptive. Pictured are the Versa Flow (left) and Sawyer Squeeze (right) attached to smartwater bottles. Type of Filter After taking your new Vecto out of its very nice box that you can just recycle, the first thing to do is give it a good clean, inside and out, using dish soap and warm water. I wanted an affordable and lightweight water bladder which was compact and easy to use which would also fit my Sawyer Squeeze water filter without any attachments. When I came across the Vecto it looked perfect. The 2 different colour variations allow you to identify your filtered and unfiltered water bladders easily. CNOC VECTO is made from sturdy rubber. While, like any bag, it’s not protected from sharp edges and cuts, the rubber is elastic and bouncy, which holds the squeeze pressure and is not as sensitive to impacts, like dropping on the ground.

Some filters may contain activated carbon, which can remove things like pesticides, smells, and heavy metals. Pump: Pump filters are not as convenient as other filtering methods because they require manual pumping to move the dirty water through the filter. That said, pump filters are good for groups or filling up larger water containers. Usually, the hose inserts directly into the water, you manually pump the water to push it through the filter, and the clean water flows through the other tube into a new container. Anyone who has ever used a collapsible container with a standard narrow opening knows how frustrating it is to fill. We wanted a product that would make it easy to fill a water bladder even in shallow streams. The Vesica is a collapsible, reusable and light water bottle that behaves like a hard bottle for easy drinking on the move. Simply carry 1L of water and stow away when empty.
