About this deal

Celtic have played in the top-flight of Scottish football all throughout the club’s history in league competitions. The Bhoys first entered a division in the 1890/91 season as a founding member of the Scottish Football League. They were later a founding team of the Premier Division in 1975. The visual identity of the Celtic club is very Scottish. Executed in green and white, the color combination which associates with the country most, it features a four-leave clover as the main element. The current version of the logo was designed in 1995 and was replaced by the 125-years anniversary badge for one year, in 1012.

May perpetual light shine upon my Auntie Bridget and my Dad and Canon McCabe, and all deceased members of Celtic Supporters Clubs throughout the world. May they rest in peace.Obviously the club’s symbols and colours are Irish befitting of our humble beginnings but many probably don’t know that we only started using the hoops in 1903 after wearing green and white stripes before then and of course the original white top with green collar and Celtic cross on the right breast for the first season only. Theory: The below medal is the earliest known usage of the four leaf clover, and the design represents in part reflects the winning of four senior trophies that season. Therefore, it is possible that if Celtic had won only the three then a three-leafed clover would have been used likely gone on to become the club emblem. As it is, the club won four trophies that season and in effect the whole history of the club & badge was set in gold.

The 1977 logo introduced a green circle with a white core. That’s where they put a green clover with white veins – their new symbol. Along the top of the resulting green frame, they’ve written the club’s name – ‘the Celtic Football Club’ – in white letters. The founding year was written in the very bottom, by contrast. 1987 – 1989 If your kids like crafting, they'll love the chance to get creative with a collage and the purple flowers look so pretty.I was one of the very first to cast eyes on the Badge when I sat on my father’s knee on a Celtic bus in Bonnybridge and I was only two years old. Making some Scottish flags is also the perfect opportunity to teach your child about the flags of the world, and to explain a little bit about the different countries that make up the United Kingdom. It was not until 1938 in fact that the 4 leaf was used instead of the 3 leaf. The Celtic Handbook from 1938 has the new badge on the front cover for the first time instead of advertising and the logo was the same on the 50th year Jubilee Dinner in the Grosvenor Hotel.

William also provides a bit of history on the development of enamel badges which are still so popular today. To make a badge, start by cutting out some card into small circle shapes (however big you want your badges to be). To finish your collage you could even add a Scottish castle with fairytale turrets and an iconic Scottish flag on the top. Just use your imagination! 5. Decorate some print-outs of Burns' poems Bridget’s father, Ned, arrived in the East End of Glasgow around the 1880’s. He was from Derry and he was only 16 years old. Ned must have had the equivalent of a front seat when they staged the first Celtic Show in 1888. Celtic surely touched his heart. Among the many immigrant Irish in the East End was a girl – Elizabeth New from Tullamore, Co. Offaly. She definitely touched his heart.

Burns Night is a celebration of Robert Burns' work, so it makes sense to celebrate by decorating print-outs of Burns' famous poems. The old traditional Celtic Cross badge made a re-appearance in the ‘Centenary Season’ (1987-88), and again in 2003 to celebrate 100 years of the Hoops top. other collage materials (different textured papers, paper scraps, magazine pictures, felt or fabric etc.)

The 40th anniversary of Lisbon was also marked with the legend 25th May 1967 at the top with Lisbon Lions & 40th Anniversary along the bottom in Portuguese. A gold star above the badge marks the European Cup win to this day. An original Glasgow Celtic embroidered blazer badge, formerly owned by Alec McNair. Not know if officially used badge or in what context it was used. Noted the very rarely used initials of “G.C.F.C.” for the club. Today (23rd February 2007) I was required to visit the community that produced the Celtic Badge. I attended Requiem Mass in St. Joseph’s in High Bonnybridge and Fr. Kelly helped us all to say goodbye to Bridget Coyne (nee Bradley 1910). Both the Association Members and the Celtic Directorate expressed admiration for the Bonnybridge bus plaque. The Directors indicated that they would like to adopt it for their own. After due consultation and consideration, Celtic supporters either at club or association level responded to this ‘request’ and the plaque design was gifted to Celtic F.C. without any thought of 1% of any future royalties. It’s an important emblem of the club and the support, and one of the world’s most recognisable symbols. A classic of all sport. Then, take some sheets of A4 or larger paper, fold them in half and then draw some triangle shapes. Use the fold of the paper as the base of the triangle, so that when you cut the triangles out you'll have a diamond shape which can be folded in half to 'sit' on the string. This is what makes it look like bunting! Celtic is one of the oldest and one of the most popular clubs in the world. In November 1887, at St. Mary’s Church in the Calton neighborhood of East Rose Street, now called Forbes Street. It was on that day that an Irish priest, Brother Wilfrid, gathered his fellow believers there and suggested that they organize a soccer club. It took him six months to form a team and play his first match.
