With very light, or unknown types of stone with open pores the joint mortar can cause discolouration. It is therefore recommended to try on a test surface beforehand. Temperature for use: > 0°C ground temperature. Shelf life: at least 12 months after production date. Use after opening. Do not mix, strongly porous. 6. Watch A Video Both the bedding and sub-base must be permeable. When using a mortar bedding mix, this should be no stronger than 6:1 (sharp sand: cement). Be careful when using add-mixtures such as SBR or PVA as these can seriously affect the permeability of a mortar mix. Freezing weather will increase the set time and will cause the process to virtually stop, it can take many days for the joints to set fully hard. The paving joint needs to be a minimum of 3mm wide, (what is described as a narrow paving joint) however care should be taken measuring this as with some, chamfered edge 'V' shaped paving, the joints at the bottom edge can be narrower than the top. EASYJoint is designed to be a narrow joint filler and is probably the best on the market. Note there is no maximum paving joint width, feel free to use as much EASYJoint as you like! Top Up Low Spots. Use more EASY Joint to top up any low spots in your joints, repeating the washing process as described previously. The compressive strength of EASYJoint is such that it will adequately take the downward forces exerted by pedestrians & domestic cars, but is not designed toform a structural part of the path/driveway. The integrity of the project can onlybe maintained if the surface material is adequately bedded into the base, whichin turn is constructed to an appropriate specification. Buy With Confidence In terms of longevity, the jointing compound will last for years if looked after. We recommend when cleaning your patio or driveway that any use of pressure washers is not pointed directly at the joint, so as to not lift or disturb the compound.
