The Geek Vape Aegis S100 (Solo 2) vape kit follows the success of the Aegis Solo mod, but now with enhanced features, even more protections and a new vape tank pairing. The Aegis S100 is powered by a single 18650 battery cell (sold separately) and capable of up to 100 watts of power, alongside temperature control and bypass modes. This device is intended for sub ohm vaping. Sub ohm vape kits require a greater amount of knowledge and experience to use safely. They use specially designed coils that register below 1.0 Ohm resistance, for use at higher wattages. You will find the Geekvape S100’s battery is at the bottom of the device in a tightly sealed compartment. The seal is great for keeping water and other debris away from the 18650 battery. However, unscrewing it can be hard on the fingers. On the front is a colour screen, a fire button and two buttons to adjust the settings. These feel great and press perfectly. There’s no play at all, despite the small size of the bottom buttons. They are easy to press and make a little noise, as you’d expect. It’s perfect in this respect too. Also, the wattage has a high range, all the way from 5W to 100W. However, you may not be able to get to the higher wattages if you do not use a good battery. Another great feature, though, is that the kit hits your set wattage instantly. Press and hold the + button. Plug the micro USB cable into your PC. Then, release the + button when the device is recognised. The two included were the Z0.2 and Z0.25. Starting with the Z0.2 coil I found it best around 70 watts. The flavor started off poorly but broke in after a tank, although it was still just ok. It only lasted about 55 mL which is low by today’s standards. Overall, not a very good coil. Then with the Z0.25, which I found best around 50 watts. Flavor was a little better than the Z0.4 coil but still just ok. Life was the same at around 55 mL.The coils in this vape’s atomizer are Z coils, which are the same that go with the Z tank. The manufacturer will have already installed the mesh coil head.
