About this deal

You should get an instant answer on whether your application has been successful, though in some rare cases Klarna or V12 may need to look at the application in more detail. i bought a C40 had to return it next day, fretbuzz was a crazy even with very high action. provided thomann with a video of a B chord sounding very bad. Both CG104A's to my dismay display exactly the same fretbuzz on A and D, as the C40s im reviewing here - and are being returned. As for color, it was listed as Natural, but we found it to have a light vintage tint in reality. Despite not actually having a natural finish, we quite liked the finish.

Specifications

The rosewood fretboard felt great under the fingers, and for us was one of the biggest highlights of the whole guitar. We were also impressed by the finish on the fret edges – there were no sharp edges, burrs, or any sign of fret sprout, all things that regularly occur on guitars at this price point, but Yamaha’s QA has been extremely effective in this area. C40s have a low-midrange sound, not much definition on high frets on the nylon strings, as expected. The Yamaha C40 has a traditional classical guitar sound that’s great for the beginner or casual intermediate player. It is not quite as loud as other classical guitars because of the laminate wood and it isn’t as rich sounding as other guitars. Also, if you record music at home, adding a nylon string guitar to your musical armoury is always useful: it’s another texture sound and even inspiration for your compositions. This model will give you that without breaking the bank. As an investment, it’s easy to justify!

The beginner’s classical guitar: it is a time-honoured tradition indeed. The nylon string classical guitar is the first port of call for a great many budding guitarists: a trusty companion as they embark on a life-long lifestyle upgrade. Why classical? Well, nylon strings are more forgiving on the fingers, and make a pleasant, expressive sound, even in the early throes of learning. It doesn’t require too much effort to make them sound nice, and that’s half the battle in those early months or learning. Beginner guitarists need a low-cost instrument that is durable, yet easy to play. The C40 is Yamaha’s solution to this demanding set of criteria. The Yamaha C40 Classical Guitar is a beautifully crafted instrument that offers an exceptional playing experience for both beginners and seasoned musicians. With its traditional classical body type and top-quality materials, this guitar delivers a rich and resonant sound that is synonymous with Yamaha's renowned craftsmanship. The overall construction of this guitar is good for what is considered a beginner guitar. While it is made for beginners, it is a strong guitar that can last the usual wear and tear a guitar takes over several years. Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.

Final word

If someone is looking for a richer, stronger classical guitar sound then spending a little more money is recommended. You won’t have to spend too much more to buy a guitar that has a more distinct sound. In fact, the C40’s low price and consistent quality has made it one of the most popular nylon string guitars in the world. It is a favorite among guitar teachers and their students. Overall the playability is fine and, while nothing to rave about, is worth the price you’ll pay for the Yamaha C40. Disadvantages The action on the C40 is about 4mm at the 12th fret. I find this a little high although it is around average for many classical guitars. The C40 is still playable, but a higher action makes pressing the strings down harder on the fingers. This can discourage beginners. Truss rods are becoming more common in other beginner nylon string models. They provide more strength against the effects of heat and humidity and allows the action to be slightly adjusted.
